Interesting. Factoring in weather too, I suppose.
<humor> meal eaten previous evening, girl friend attitude Friday night, term papers, flat tires on way to stadium, who cares to add to this <humor>

Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Well...from what I can tell there will be 4 teams in the playoff hunt from the NWC next year...

Linfield
Whitworth
Willamette
PLU

...and I don't think anybody has an advantage over the others from what I saw this year. So it's going to come down to...    ::)

Wildcat'64

Blue,
I respectfully disagree....I think the Cats have a much better talent group returning than any of the other three....particularly in the area of defense.  Defenses win championships!  Additionally,Willamette and Whitworth both have to play at the Catdome in 2008 and PLU lost  a huge number of seniors!

Once again, if the Cats can hold onto the ball in 2008, it's playoff time again for the Cats.

Wildcat'64....I confess that I don't know all the details about next years teams.... PLU, Whitworth, Willamette...or even the Wildcats (although I know we lost about 20-25 seniors also). But I think right now there is more parity across the board between these 4 teams than I've seen in recent years. PLU is definately getting better. They were 7-2 this year and in our game with them it was 0-0 at halftime. Willamette beat us this year and so did Whitworth. Whitworth beat us last year at home. Every year we say/think we're better than Whitworth and they have still beat us the last 2 years and knocked us out of the playoffs each time. So I think we have to prove it on the field before we can be spouting off. I'd call it even between the 4 mentioned teams until I see something different. In other words, I'm kind of PO'ed right now.... ;D

...and as far as "Defenses win Championships". Whitworth kind of proved that in league play but that's why I don't buy that saying hook line and sinker for playoff advancement.... I think you need all three...Defense, Offense and Special Teams.

Just a note to say hi after making my +Karma round this evening!!  It will be great to be one of the Automatic qualifying conferences.  But we'll just have to win the NWC, which we can, if we can get it together.  I am praying for Sean of the Washington Redskins tonight.  It sounds really bad!
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

When the boss isn't looking I'll see if the WW guy (who is still playing) can beat 52 and 53 yards.   ;)

D.O.C. - guess the boss is keeping a close watch on you...so I thought I'd put some facts down for you.  Schebler from UWW is 19-25 on FG & 31 of 31 on PAT's good for 88 points.  He's had 2 kicks blocked (one was a 21 yarder at St. Cloud State on turf & the other I'm not sure).
FG's 20-29 yards 6-7
       30-39 yards 7-7
       40-49 yards 4-8
       50 & over 2-3.
He's made 2 from 52 -one on turf at St. Cloud, 1 on grass at home vs UW-Oshkosh and missed a 50 yarder on grass at UW-Stevens Point.
He's missed the last two games - haven't really needed him, though - due to a leg injury suffered in the final regular season game against UW-Platteville (two of his misses came in this game after he was injured), but word has it he will be back this week vs Wabash.
Hope this will help you stay in good graces with the boss!!

Nicely done!

I hope he gets healthy for the rest of the season.
Sounds solid.

Tuxguy

cawcdad,

I wanted to thank you for running the NWC Pick'em.
I'm no jimmy the Greek......( I sucked)... but I had fun. Thanks for all the time
and extra work you put in. I'll try harder next year  ;D

Go CATS!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

coco

Wha..??

I didn't even know we had a pick-em.
Two words:  THE STREAK

Thank you tuxguy. It was fun

coco, this was posted last August 12 right here on the NWC board. :)

Several of us on the NWC board liked to make picks last year and after checking out the other pick'em threads, decided that I will try to keep one up for the NWC. This is a straight pick the winners. No point spreads needed. If you wish to make comments or predict the scores, feel free to do so as it could lead to some interesting conversation on this thread. Soooo, here is the NWC Pick 'em thread.
It is a child board under General football, NWC pick 'em I plan on doing it again next year with a couple of new wrinkles. It would be nice, I think, since I get to do the work  :o, to have a few more folks involved.

I'm not volunteering because a couple of us help Ralph do the ASC pick'em.
Speaking from experience, two or three sets of eyes are always helpful, as well as the fact that sometimes we have to be away at critical times. :)

There were plenty of eyes Gray Fox. I was corrected a couple of times. ;D I meant I would like more people to participate.

If the predicted four way tie comes about, it would be a great honor to win the pick'em. ;D

Thanks for the warm fuzzys CoCo. Parents did come over and we had a great time together. You will think they are your grandparents when the next three years are over. They will be regulars at the CATDOME.

As for next year it looks good. For you Cat Fans that live near Linfield there will be a scrimmage thursday night. Hope you can go out and watch. Simon said they are going to pick teams and go at it. If anybody gets to go let me know how it turns out.

GO WILDCATS

Wildcat'64

PPJ,

Thanks for the "inside information" on the scrimmage.....nice to see the Cats are getting ready for the '08 season.  With good hard work and all the talent the Cats have coming back,  I think they will be a force to be reckoned with next year.
