Proud Papa Joe

Thanks once again 11. Lever is a great kid. He was the first Wildcat Simon and I met when we went to visit Lindfield. We were at the Gym late checking things out. This young man comes out of the weight room and walked right up to us and intruduced himself and shock my hand. That right there impressed me. It was Mr. Lever. What a nice young man. As for the videos, keep them coming. Four more months until they strap it on.

News from Spring is good. Everybody is working hard and getting fired up for next season. Can't wait.

Thanks guys.  I can't take credit for anything pre-2006 as I just pull the clip right off the old highlight videos that others put together and slapped it up on the site.

Spring ball starts next week!

Thomas Ford scored 2 TD's last evening in a 64-20 Alaska Wild romp over the Fairbanks Grizzlies.  Story at www.adn.com/sports  Nice photo on Page 1 of Thomas catching a pass for one of the TD's.

Historical question:  Was the College of Idaho a member of the NWC at some point?  Any clues as to why it is now NAIA rather than DIII?  Any discussion of restarting football over there?

just wondering,

Yes, Tooth, they were back in the day.

I believe there has been talk of starting football there, but I don't know how likely it is that football will return. We all know that it's an expensive program to start up.

It was rumored that Pacific might be announcing their return to football within the next couple of years, but I don't know what happened to that.

Whitman used to have football as well, but I don't see them ever bringing it back.

Yep, coco, deja vu!

Talking deja vu check out the Boise Burn website. Allen was 5 catches for 85 yds and 1 TD for the second straight game.

"T" Ford had a couple receptions fro TD's and scored one on the ground as the Wild beat the Fairbanks Grizzlies.

Hey criswyly,
Any chance you'll be back in the states this year?

From the "It's a Small World File"

My brother had a phone conversation with an old high school buddy of his last night.
They haven't talk since the late 60's.
He finds out his buddy lives in Eugene, OR and he tells him his nephew and his brother both played football for Linfield College in the '80's
and that they both were on the NAIA Championship team. My brother tells him his nephew, my son,  played for Linfield and was a member of the 2004 D3 Championship team.

What are the odds of two high school friends both having a nephew playing for two different Linfield Championship Football Teams?

Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Tooth,

College of Idaho/Albertsons has always been a member of the NAIA and like Coco said they were one time a member of the NWC.  I don't recall when they left or when they dropped football but it was a long time ago.

I know recently they have had money issues but supposedly the Albertsons board of directors (the grocery chain not the college) was going to inject a LARGE sum of cash into the college over a five year period.  One of the conditions of the donation is that athletics moves to the DIII model and join the NCAA.

COI was "school number 9" in a list of non DIII schools that are exploring DIII membership.  I think this was floating around the NCAA site last year.

Myself, I think that COI would be a perfect NWC member.  They're private, their academics falls in line with the other members (way better than Menlo), and while it would be a hell of a bus trip I think the negitive of a bus ride doesn't overcome the benifit of a 10th NWC member.

In terms of football, they talked about it but they have other fish to fry in terms of their cash issues.  If they joined the NWC it would be as a non-football member.

Oh, what's 700 miles when you're with your friends? and a win?
