Geez, did you hit every thread with this message?

Great cause or not, it's still SPAM.

I do this every year for Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Pearl Harbor Day.  So far you are the first to complain.  I would suggest informing the moderators or PC if you do not like it.  Until I am told to cease by them I will continue to do this.

Unfortunate choice of words for the campaign IMHO.

It's been reported, and I can certainly live with whatever PC says. I fully agree that we haven't done nearly enough for our veterans in this country, especially those serving after WWII. But several of us are involved with some worthy cause or another. What if each of us hit every message board with SPAM 3 times a year?

What a pleasure to watch.
Rector was the whole package -- the hands, the moves, and the strong legs to fight for a few more yards.

Nice work, WC11, as always.

Is David Russell next?

Thanks Coco!

Next week is Darrin Causey (LB, 1990-94) and we'll wrap up Legends month with David Russell (which is a good 9 minute clip that seem like just a few).

The Causey footage will be fun to watch, too. I hope more people than just us posters are watching these clips.

Knightstalker:

My dad served 24 years in the Navy. He fought in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. I have an older brother who served 20 years in the Army (he did two tours of duty in 'Nam), and I support your post. I don't consider it spam.

During the 2007 homecoming game at Linfield there was an older gentleman in front of me buying a burger during half time. We got to talking and he told me he left Linfield early to go to war (WWII) and returned afterwards to play football for the Wildcats. Following WWII my father was enrolled at Cal-Poly, but left school to return to active duty when the Korean War broke out. What these men did speaks volumes. They set aside their own plans in order to serve their country.
Keep up the good work.

Congrats to the baseball team on winning todays elimination game.  Sounded like a few fans even made the trip, great game 5-4.

I think there is no worthier cause that to help guys who have protected our freedoms.  If you can come up with some others that are more worthy I am sure that most of the posters will not mind spending a few minutes reading and deciding for themselves if it's cause is worthy.  Having members of the family in all the wars with the exception of the two Iraq's and Afganistan I for one don't mind reading what he posted.  If Pat thinks it is not ok I am sure that he would stop it.  You do have the right to skip over any post you don't want to read.

I listened to Kelly Bird on the play-by-play too.  I'll be hoping for the best tomorrow because everybody's pitching staff is going to be put to the test.

Also good luck to our golfers on the last two days of the NCAA's.  I hope we can crack the top 10.

Go'Cats! The baseball team is playing Wartburg at 3:30 Central Time today in an elimination game. Should be a barn burner!

A good article on a couple of incoming 'Cat football players from Nevada.

Football: Peterson, McCarthy headed to Linfield

It sounds like they both could be pretty darn good players and I like what they had to say about their expectations.

---Peterson said neither he or McCarthy have any visions of starting as freshman, especially in a talent-rich program.

"They have a real strong team, they aren't in desperate need of us, we know that going in," he said. "We're going to have to earn our time and hopefully break in on special teams or in mop-up situations those first few years.

"They bring in good players, there's no question. That'll just make us work harder."

D O.C.

It appears they like doing homework too...

Quote"We were excited about the caliber of the school academically," Peterson said. "Athletically they were just a step above everyone else. They are playing for a championship every year and they take things pretty seriously."

Hello fellow posters. I have been reading and enjoying whats going on. But its time I post agian.

First, thanks 11 for the great clips and interviews that you have done. I really like Joey Rector. He ran hard and always turned it in instead of out. Like to see that. He is also a fellow Les Schwab Manager and I enjoy visiting with him at meetings.

Secondly, sounds like spring training went well. 11 do you have any good stuff for use about spring training? Can't wait for next year.

Thirdly, sounds like the recruiting class is pertty strong. I hope nobody thinks I am out of line but I have to disagree with 11 on the coment the kids from Nevada said. I would rather them say "the guys in front of them should look out because they are coming to play football". Not they are willing to play special teams and mop up roll for the first two years.  Nothing is givin in life. You have to earn what you get. And you have to earn it daily. If you don't earn it on day one, well keep trying because you will get it in the end. And during this time you are making those in front of you better.

PPJ,

I don't think you're out of line at all and I agree you have to have confidence in yourself that you are going to come in and do great things, however,  respect and playing time is earned with your actions when you get on campus and not by bold statements as an incoming freshman that can do nothing but piss of the guys that are already there.  Just my opinion.

BTW, thanks for the props on the vids.  Joey was a tough son of a gun and I think you'll REALLY like the David Russell clip in two weeks.  :D
