Redlands is a minor league chump squad. I'd rather play Oxy, Cal Lutheran, Chapman or.... Whittier, even the Poets are better.....

OUCH. Not much Puppy love from Bluenote.

Bygones---As 11 stated, we had ample shots and couldn't pull it off.

It's not a bygone....I saw the play/video with my own eyeballs. I know for a fact that if we get the ball there...we score on the next play. Game over.

phone it in!

BE,

Bluenote is still playing the shoulda, woulda, coulda from last season. He still thinks the Butcher might have an extra year of elgibility left. Back to reality Blue, come back to the light.

Interesting how RFB is so caught up on the butcher....I mean you'd think he was bitter from all those wins the Cats had against Redlands during the Brett Elliott days....oh wait....all those wins were WITHOUT the Butcher.  Man....good thing Redlands bailed when they did......
Go Cats!

Better yet....None of the Redlands players, coaches etc. are walking through that door, stepping off that bus, answering the phone etc......

True, new directives says Redlands can only schedule the NWC Champ.

MonroviaCat

Sure, and I'm sure as soon as Linfield wins back the NWC tilte Redlands will start answering the phone again, right?  :P

Good one! +k

Now RFB, sir, love your enthusiasm but I am going to let you in on a little pre-season secret about what The Team That Cannot Be Scheduled has coming at opponents this year......well, the job still has to be earned I suppose....suffice to say he can throw a pass to himself and score.   8)

I know who you're talking about and I hear he is pretty special. We'll see what he can do down at The Runner in week one of the playoffs.

It's a dead horse. No matter how much anyone tries to deflect the issue, we know Maynard is just too chicken to schedule Linfield.

On to other subjects. Last Saturday was the annual Rutschman luncheon and it was great, as it is every year. I enjoy seeing guys I played with and meeting some who played later. Coach is always happy to see everyone and greets everybody at the beginning and thanks us all at the end again for coming, when we are the lucky ones who got to play for him. I don't know how he can remember the names of people's wives and kids, but he does.

The people who spoke were Joe Smith, Langsdorf, and of course, Coach Rutschman.  They told some hilarious stories. Langsdorf related a comment from Mike Riley that he learned more from Coach Rutschman than he has from any other coaching job. Joe Smith said he thinks this recruiting class is one of the strongest ever.

Former players spoke, too. There were stories about Coach's clipboard. I don't think there was a guy in the room who hadn't gotten rapped on the helmet or the butt with that. Overall was the incredible respect everyone has for the man. You could almost see it. He had such high expectations of us, and we would have done anything for him. We all felt it. One guy from the eighties said it was the first time he was drinking a beer in front of Coach Rutschman.

Anyway, it was fun time, and we all enjoy coming together to pay tribute to this outstanding man every June. It makes me get revved up for football, too. This season could be our year!

Coach Maynard to you chief!

Nah, I never played for him, so I think of him as Maynard the Dodger, or He Who Ducks.
