Despite all that, bballdave, welcome to the board. :)

I think I'll trust Wildcat11's assessment of bballdave .... after reading a few of his posts that were highlighted in Wildcat11's investigative reporting. So, while he's welcome to post, I think he's trying to blow smoke up somebody's a$$ with his cute little comments here on the NWC board about Linfield.

bballdave

I apologize for upsetting some forum members with previous comments.  But.....what was  posted is how I saw things at that time.  I believe Linfield recent teams have  been struggling the past couple of years to find their  own identity - and not that of their predecessors.  It's been difficult with a new head coach, no truly outstanding IMPACT player(s) and a lot of living in the past.  Although some suggest that win or lose the Hardin-Simmons game doesn't mean much (and you know they will be up for Linfield after last year's loss) because of the NWC's authomatic playoff spot I believe a win or a close loss will let them really believe in themselves - that they have arrived.  That said a hard loss would be difficult to overcome and leave doubts in a lot of minds.  So best wishes to Linfield - I will be in Texas on personal matters but  will drive to Abilene to see the game on the 13th of Sept.  I apologize once again for upsetting some of you.   Bballdave

Since dave thinks that Linfield players live in the past, I am going to do the same and dislike him based on his stupid past posts. I hope he takes his shirt off and bangs on empty steel drums like the rest of the hsu fans on the 13th.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

bballdave,

No need to apologize.    We are all entitled to our opinions.     Personally, I think you were pretty close to right on.

This is the year the Linfield coach needs to win a conference title (at least).     Going 9-0 would really be sweet.   Their schedule, however, sure doesn't make that easy.

Soon,  I hope we dump WOU in favor of another Div. III or NAIA team.    Under the current scholarship conditions, we are at a handicap trying to beat WOU.

I have lots of faith in Linfield football.     GO CATS!  GO!
GO CATS! GO!

Wildcat'64

I sense this may be "The Year of the Cats"....the schedule is tough with Hardin Simmons at home, PLU at home and WOU late in the season but this squad will have something to prove.  They are clearly not happy about not being a playoff team for the last two years.  They are hungry and will clearly have something to prove!  History shows that has produced some of the best teams in the Cats history.
LEAVE NO DOUBT

Well.....I'd have to assume that Linfield has one of the tougher schedules in D3. So there's a lot of motivation there. I'm looking for the O and D Lines to step it up and get a little feisty with a chip on their shoulder after the last couple of years. That's the kind of play I like to see. It all starts with the lines in my mind. That opens the way for the skill players to do their magic!  :o

Don't worry Tux.  Ole blue goes on the shelf above my workbench and does not move until I attend the first Cat game each year.  cleaning--we don't need no stinking cleaning.  As  usual the contents will purify all that it touches.

Here's to 3 weeks till opening day..looking forward to exceeding your expectations with the more mature mighty oaks of Menlo. That last game vs UPS was fun and opened eyes as to what a little experience can do for the program.  Preseason polls shows UPS a notch up which makes no since to me.. they also say we have 12 returning starters but its really 16-18 with a couple nice transfers as well.  We will be athletic with much improved offense with a little struggle on D with new D coordinator.  Oh well, look forward to all the harrassment but we will surprise a few of you this year look for 5 wins out of the 10 game schedule with 2 to 3 in conference :-)
Here's wishing you a "haka haka" burning love  Go Oak 13!!

.....menlodaddio13.......I always enjoy it when Menlo has some game. It makes things much more interesting around the league. They have had some very good teams in the past. Hope they do well this year.

Daddio13,

I think the coaches around the NWC are aware that Menlo is going to be a much tougher draw this year and they have a pretty decent home set up this season but that program's problem for years has been consistency.  I wouldn't be surprised if they finished in the top half of the NWC but I wouldn't be surprised if they finish just above L&C.

Has Menlo made any upgrades to its football field?

Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Tick....Tick....Tick.........

3 Days and counting........I can almost hear the cracking of the pads.

Nice preview on the Cats website. Sounds like we are going to be young and talented. Or is it talented and young. Either way I'm excited for the season.

GO WILDCATS
ONE GAME AT A TIME!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

It's time for the NWC Pick 'em contest. Go to the NWC Pick 'em board to sign up by making your predictions for this years final NW standings. Then each week make your picks for each game. I hope it is fun.

'Cats report in a few short days.  Catdomealumni.com (WC11) will be there snapping some pictures and digging up some info.  Plan on running a few specials on our blog (Mr and Mrs WC11 Fav pre/post game places to grub, Player blog “camp diary”, and some other odds and ends).

I hope to have a hard date on when Catdomealumni.com shirts will be available by the end of this week.
