Well I guess the Quarterback will just have to throw to himself.

Is everyone west of the Rocky Mountains OK?

I make an outrageous statement in my previous post and 24 hours later no one has smacked me down like a red haired step-child.
Are you talking about your bad spelling? ;)

Just checked in on the Pios game---caught the last 13 seconds of the half.  Pios stop the Panthers at the 6 yd line to hold onto the big half time lead.  Pios 30 -Panthers (of Principia) 7 at half time --GO PIOS!   :)

Interesting fact:  Lewis and Clark has nearly twice the number of players as Principia--have the finally gained numbers or is Principia fielding about 20 players total?

I just pulled up their roster.  It had 23 players out of 533 students.

I saw them play in Texas a few years ago.  That was about the size of their squad then.  Many guys went both ways for awhile.

I'm watching the Notre Dame vs. San Diego State game and read this players name on San Diego's roster.
Any Linfields fans remember this player? He transfered from Linfield to San Diego State.

Just got home from the UW-Stout - Menlo game. Both teams played poorly. Neither really deserved to win. Stout struck first with a TD in the first quarter. Menlo answered back with their own score in the 2nd quarter and was tied 7 -7  at the half. Neither team scored in the second half. Both teams had big punt returns brought back by penalties. Both teams started to drive the ball with the Oaks stalling with penalties and the Blue Devils having two field goal attempts blocked. The game went to overtime with Menlo getting the first shot. They drove and put the ball in, but had the TD nullified by an illegal formation penalty. On the next play Rehn sprained his ankle. Molina was brought in and the Oaks settled for a FG. Stout then got the ball and completed a short out pass for a couple of yards and then found Menlo couldn't stop the off tackle left and marched on in for the 13 -10 win. Pictures in a while.

So hey all you northerners. Who went to the scrimage and how did things go?

11 did you get any videos? If so. How about a Football fix. Can't wait tell the 27th to watch my son. Fix me up.

Thanks

Hey WILDCAT fans...nothing in here but some chickens. 7:15 PM PDT go check out the HSU website and get their webcast. They have just come back from 7 - 21 in the third to tie La Crosse 21 -21.

It was actually 21-0 until about7 seconds left in the 3rd.  Looks like they may be a good opener for the Cats next week afterall!

I had a feeling that I should have picked Willamette.   :'(  They play very strong at home (just ask the 'Cats and Rats from last year).  I took the Cobbers mainly out of reputation but it looks like WU is going to be solid this year.

Congrats L&C.  Have a feeling that is going to be it for this year but those kids should savor it.

Monrovia...agree that HSU is going to be very tough.  It's a long disjointed trip to get to Abilene to begin with and we have a number of new parts involved...very talented parts (as I saw in the scrimmage today) but new parts.

PPJ...no vid today.  The Catdome shirts came in today so I was pushing them all morning long.  I'm going to put an official shirt page up later tonight.  I like what I saw today.....offense with success and defense with success.

What confidence going into the LINFIELD game...

GOOD!!

Looks like Willamette came up big or Concordia choked big with 5 turnovers (forced or coughed up, I dunno) which made the difference in that game.

Lewis and Clark ran the ball well and forced some turnovers.  Will be fun to see how they play against a more competitive team but I'd guess they've improved quite a bit to come up with 43 while limiting the opponent to only a TD.  Last year, the least they gave up was 36 and the most they scored was 31.  Maybe they'll prove us all wrong (those of us in the Pickem who have the pegged last).

Menlo sounds like another disapointing year if today was any indication.

Bring on the Cowboys--Cats will have to play 4 quarters or face the fate of LAX!
Go Cats!
