Question for Pat. This board is as good as any other.

(3 games in 28 hours. Tsk, tsk.)

What media devices are you using to keep track of everything?

Have you changed in the last 2 years?

If it's not a trade secret, of course.

Thanks to everyone for all the welcomes.  I'll do my best to hold up the WU end of things here.  I still haven't managed to nail down Speckman, but I should have an update tomorrow.

One thing I should add is that we finally replaced the raggedy old scoreboard behind the south end zone with a brand new videoboard.  They're still playing with graphics, but they did have the board tied in with the CCTV cameras, allowing for some instant replay.

Attendance for the game was also unusually high, and considering how well we played, I'm hopeful that it will stay that way this season.

BearcatPress....welcome aboard. It will be nice to read your updates and perspective from a Willamette point of view...!   8) There used to be several people from Willamette that would post but I don't know where they are now....maybe lurking....

Blue, it's a Willamette poster tradition not to show up on this board until the week they play Linfield.  Then they vanish into thin air after the game.  It's a yearly phenomenon.

Remind me who those poster were..do you remember any of their site names?...I know there were 1 or 2 that would always post back in the good old days....plus wasn't ther someone who was...well let's say challenged? Wait that person was from Whitworth or was it Willamette...or both?

Blue,

As far as I remember, Aaron Biglin (AB) was the most famous poster from Whitworth. Then he re-invented himself later as a state trooper from Tacoma or thereabouts, but we recognized him anyway.

Brig was one of my favorite Willamette posters. He claimed to be a law student, but was later proven to be Little Speck. I'm not sure he'd even finished college. He had posting mood swings, to put it mildly, and was a source of entertainment with his wild predictions.

I seem to remember someone with the screen name River that posted from Willamette.

...ya...thanks I remember those guys coco and crawdad. River used to be pretty good with his info and made some good points with a sense of humor. Bilgin and Brig were out of it too. I loved how they would get all fired up and say crazy things! (we never do that ...do we!  :-* )

What ever happened to Stoonk?

D O.C.

Stoonk can be found lurking on the SCIAC pages.
He will be at the CLU - Willamette game. So will OXYBob
I will not.
I have been invited to a slot tournament and viewing of the OHIO St. - USC game at the Venetian in Las Vegas.
I would appreciate a certain cell phone number that's headed down to Abilene.   ;)

Ah...little Speck.  Started off getting battered around but wound up being ok.  I think he hasn't been posting because he's been on dad's staff the past few years.  I'm sure he wanted to jump on board after last season.

Press, so the City of Salem finally let WU put up their board?  Good for WU.  Hope we can provide the Bearcats with some inspiration with some of the pieces the 'Cats run on ours.

Whoa, DenS, quite the high roller you are.

Doesn't Stoonk also post under Vilnis Stootsky, or some similar name, or are they different guys? I thought they were the same person, like TDT had a couple names.

My cell phone number isn't headed down to Abilene, or I'd help you out. It did go to the beach once.

That poster has just one name now -- nipped that in the bud last year.

The only fancy item I have out on the road with me, other than the usual laptop, camera and audio recording device, is a smart phone.

Thank-you. Apparently the smart phone works just fine.
Good start to the season.

Welcome, BearcatPress.

Was Salemcat the reinvented 'Lil Speck you guys are talking about who posted a couple of years ago, or was that someone else? Although he (Salemcat) got off to kind of a rough start I want to say he ended up being a pretty decent poster. I think he also joined up on some of the tailgates if I'm thinking of the right guy.

On a random note, I noticed one of the games this weekend (UW-Eau Claire vs. Bethel) was 4-0 at one time. Don't think I've ever seen that score before in a football game.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Pat Coleman

I double- and triple-checked that score to make sure it wasn't a 14 that got typoed. That was something else.

Many eons ago the best Linfield could do was a couple safeties in a game, against Lewis and Clark, of all people. That may have been the last time they beat us -- I don't know about that part. I do know that the final score for Linfield was only 4, and L&C had something like 6 or 7.

Pat, I kept hitting refresh thinking the score would change to something more believable.

coco, that's interesting. UW-Eau Claire scored a TD to end with 11 points. Still a weird number, but nothing like ending the game with 4.
