Interesting game for Linfield.

*   Many new names for the Wildcats.

*  215 yards rushing, 136 passing.   When was the last time that happened?
    QB was leading rusher.   ??

*  Outgained HSU 351 yds vs. 339

*  28.5 yards per punt

*  Fumbles lost: 2    (Familiar story for the last 2 years.)    These cost Linfield the win.

Again the NWC is not impressing anyone.  Who have they beat?

SOU and WOU will be VERY tough for Linfield.

I do have to say, as much as it hurts me to, that Willamette has beat two teams that have been in the top of their conferences the last few years.  As for the rest of the NWC, well....time will tell I guess

Picked up a Whitworth media guide yesterday and saw that next year's shedule has the Pirates returning to a 10 game schedule.  The Pirates will open at Hardin-Simmons.

Maybe they can borrow tape  ;)

....who are the out of conference teams that you play on that 10 game schedule for next season?

They're probably not teams that we'd have the creativity to try and schedule.....we just pick up the phone and dial the same teams every season.......why don't we add Eastern Oregon back to our schedule?? ;)

I thought Dave Hansen and Carney did a great job broadcasting the game yesterday.....it would have been even better if I could have understood what was going on.....at any point during the game.  I did, however, have a great sense of what the weather was like.

GO CATS!!!  CatDome rocking in 2 weeks.......

Ha ha....in their defense (not that I'm jumping to defend them) I don't think they could see half the field from where they were sitting.

Just got back to Seattle from Menlo.  Its very tough to watch.  I think Chapman was much better than last year, although I also thought the Oaks would be much better as well.  So far, Im dead wrong.  they were outplayed and definately outcoached.  Menlo has not replaced OC that is playing QB in Europe and it shows. New DC apparently hasnt got his thoughts across yet.  Not to mention its gets worst with Oxy there next week.  We'll get through the SoCal teams in a couple weeks and head to Cat Country.  Wow..Cant wait till Homecoming and another shot at UPS.
Here's wishing you a "haka haka" burning love  Go Oak 13!!

Well....I'd like to find out who they scheduled since they are the 2 time champs of the NWC it doesn't sound like people are shaking in their boots and avoiding them. They must have picked up 4 out of league games...and I'm wondering how many of those are DIII?

I guess we can worry about that later as there are 8 teams on this years schedule who we should worry about at this point...Hardin Simmons, SOU, Western Oregon, Whitworth, Willamette, UPS, Menlo and PLU. I think we'll beat L&C for sure!

Guess the Cat is out of the bag...Whitworth set up a home and home with HSU that will start at hardin-simmons.  The schedule stays the same as this year but home and away will be flopped.  So it should go...

Thanks Wildcat for keeping that on the DL till it was made official.  As for the Whitworth game, the best comparison I could think of was the 2006 and 2007 Linfield teams.  Dominated every statistical category but a -3 turnover margin kept the leopards in the game.  Even held La Verne to 6 rushing yards...Salty indeed.

That's interesting...10 game schedule with all of them being DIII. All West Region.....can't really do better than that.

Hey Menlodad,
At least you'll get to enjoy the not so cold SoCal night down here when your Oaks play at the Rock.
Gone are the days when the Oaks had a huge o-line that could protect the kid who destroyed a lot of teams with his arm. Not to mention his favorite go-to target, Nate Jackson.
Hope that your team can hang in there though.

Well back home....I'll blog about the game later.  Just disappointed with the loss.  Brutally flat first half, great energy in the 2nd half, get the lead, have them pinned deep, and HSU made the play on the sideline and then they punched it in.  Brutal way to lose and compound that with some key losses on offense.  (I don't know the status and I'll let the college release that info on AB and R.Ford).

SOU is going to be b*tch so I hope the 'Cats flush it and bust their backsides the next two weeks.  Crazy...it will be SOU's 5th game and our 2nd when we meet up.   :-\

Saw that SOU only lost to Sacramento State 27-16.....DI-AA team.....a crappy one at that, but still 2-3 levels up from us.

Should be interesting......

WOU just played #8 Central Washington extremely close (31-24 and were ahead most of the game) and last week they beat Western Washington 37-27 AT Western Washington.

It will be interesting to see how SOU does this weekend vs. Willamette.....
