From the LINFIELD Game Day website...

QuoteThis is a reminder to all fans attending Saturday's football game that the use of tobacco or alcohol within the gates of Maxwell Field is strictly prohibited.

You wacky Oregonians, only two substances are banned. And that's INSIDE the gates!

Who is going to be watching the game via Cat's Eye View this weekend?  Me!

MonroviaCat:
I'll be online also. I just purchased my season package today from stretch internet.

Also a reminder--I will be selling Wildcat 11's Catdomealumni shirts  so bring your cash--  buy a shirt  have a longie, support a Wildcat Football Charity--does it get any better than that

GHC, Given your situation with the double wide, I can't help but think there's a good chance you've accidentally cut off the sleeves of these awesome shirts, spilled high octane mix all over them, and wrote "Get me a longie, b*tch!" on the back.

Ahhh, what the heck. I'll pick mine up and wear it anyway. Still going to a very good cause.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

After watching Linfield in Abilene I am interested to see if the coaches have found the right solution to the porous defense and fumbling/turnover prone offense.  The injuries to the QB and to Ford are also an issue.  I saw the WU - SOU game last Saturday and Linfield needs to come out focused and not let Southern think they have a chance.  It may come down to Linfield's ability to stop the mid range passing game of SOU.  I was less than impressed with the kicking game, especially the punter.

I'd say a lot these issues were addressed at half time of the HSU game.  NO turnovers in the 2nd half and only one sustained drive (granted it was the game winning one for HSU) given up in the 2nd half (and had our DB not fallen on the 3rd and long play that one may have not happened).  I agree though that the key this week is stopping the passing game.  And the challenge to that is going to be to get pressure on the QB.  The upside is that he is not a very mobile QB so we may be able to pressure him with less fear of him taking off and running.....the oposite of the Cat's "new" QB.
Go Cats!

I think the key to Saturday for the defense is to sacrifice your body (Aaron did) in the name of THE STREAK.    :)

For anybody that is interested here is the location where Gig Harbor Cat will sell Catdomealumni.com shirts before the SOU game.  We will probably set up a table around 4pm.  I won't and can't sell shirts in the 'Catdome so you'll have to go through the carrier of the blue jug to get yours.

There is a strong possibility that we'll have more XXL's on hand but the quantity is limited.

Catdomealumni.com T-Shirt booth location, click on WC11 for more information.

I know it's stiff competition from you fat boys but if anyone would be so kind to pay 12 for an XXL for me I would gladly repay 20 for shipping and handling. Oh heck, I'll just come and get it at the Willamette game. The 20 still stands.

Good afternoon from the WIAC (however it still looks like its the a.m. out west), Whiteawater will be heading out west to take on Puget this weekend. does anyone have any insight on what the Warhawks might expect saturday?

I don't see a whole lot going as far as Logger talk in here, so maybe some other NC schools can chime in and offer their opinoin on Pudget as well.

The WIAC board seems pretty confident UWW will win, but I thought i'll see what the NC thinks....

The NWC pick-em is unanimous that WW will win.  Basically, if you can stop UPS's QB then you've effectively shut-down their offense.  And I doubt UPS defense will give you much trouble.  I'm sure some of the other guys here will have input as well.

Hey...kudos for UPS scheduling the National Champion.

Stranger things have happened than WW having every single thing go wrong for them and UPS playing way above any expectation of their coaching staff=upset.

Who you gonna root for?

UWW...of course. But i'm sure you weren't asking me, D.O.C. ;)

Whitewater will have far superior talent and a far superior game plan.  UPS has never had much of a defense and there offense is a Wing T variation that will more than likely utilize quite a few QB read and option plays, especially given their personnel.  Because they rely so heavily on the run they are hardly a factor to come from behind to win a game.  I'm sure someone else can provide a more in depth scouting report but those are my quick thoughts.

It's too bad Whitewater has to travel or they could get more than the 50 something guys who will make the trip some playing time.

Rat,

UPS has gone to the spread option this season but it doesn't matter.  I don't think it will be a "beat down of beat downs" because the total lack of fun in playing a game at UPS (it why I call it "the Mourge").  This is really just a site seeing trip for UWW.
