Not to interrupt the Linfield love-fest... :)

Wish us luck...I think we're gonna need it!!!

Please interupt the Linfield love-fest whenever you feel the need.  :)

Welcome to the board.  Nice to have another non-Cat fan, even if it is a Logger.  There was a couple of your guys active on here two seasons ago and then I think for awhile early last season.  I haven't seen anything from them in awhile.

When did you guys go to Maroon jerseys.  I coulda swore you were green and yellow(gold) when I played against you.

Oh yeah, good luck today, you're gonna need it... Give 'em the Beaver-Trojan treatment!

The Tacoma News Tribune had a pretty good preview story today describing how this game came to be.  Looks like the Loggers will be headed out to Whitewater next year!!!  :o

I'm actually pulling for UPS today. Don't like the warhawks.

GO LOGGERS!

I got the grill heating up and Stevie Ray Vaughn on the tune machine. It's a good day for a Wildcat victory!

GO 'CATS!

A note about game day parking from the Linfield web site:Parking is expected to be extremely tight. In addition to the home football game, there is also a home volleyball match and a theatrical performance at the Marshall Theatre on Keck Campus. As such, a portion of the usual game-day parking on Keck Campus will be restricted for theatre patrons.
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Yeah--I remember not wanting to go to UPS because of the green and yellow (my hischool rivals' colors).  I think the maroon jersies aer a bit nicer anyway!  And welcome.

What a season.
I listen to LINFIELD at HSU.
That's it. Couldn't travel.

I have fill the void with listening to Willamette - Concord Moorehead/CLU, PLU - CLU, friggin' johns - Moorehead, Whitworth - Redlands, HSU - LAX....

Today I'm leaving to sit in the 99 degree heat and watch Willamette - LaVerne and tonight I'll trudge to Whitworth - Chapman.

What the hey! I cannot even see my own team.

CalCat

Was at the Willamette vs La Verne game and really not a whole lot to talk about.  La Verne put up fight 1st half but caved early in the second after a blocked punt for a safety then a long TD run that seemed to take the fight out of La Verne.  Same Willamette run the fly every which way.  Only negative for Willamette was injury to TB Kyle Johnson who injured left knee 2nd quarter and was on crutches rest of game.  La Verne is better than last year and could sneak up on SCIAC opponent if taken to lightly.  I think they going in the right direction it is going to take some time to build it back up.

I just got back from the Menlo - Whittier game. Thew Oaks get their first win 38 - 20. Menlo scored on their first possesion. Then the Poets scored on their first play. The Oaks blocked the PAT and returned it for 2. Then the Oaks scored  and the Poets scored. It seemed like it was going to be a who ever had the ball last would win. The defenses finally settled in and it turned into a good game. I'll be back for the Cats game. Gotta get my pictures set up.

FLY this...
Did not get to LaVerne until the last plays of the first quarter and couldn't even get my camera out to get a pic for BearcatPress when Willametty knocked down a 40 something yard pass and ran it in on the next play. 14 – 0.

They must have treated the game as practice because FLY they did. The (what'sa) Bearcats scored a couple of more times on long pass plays - and long runs, as well, to their credit.

They are large on the offensive line too.

Adjustments were made at halftime and the later play calling exploited whatever it was LaVerne was trying to do.

Wow.  :-\

The Warhawks are a great football team.  The Loggers didn't play a bad game, they just couldn't compete with a team on the next level.  The good news was that nobody on either team got hurt.

The Logger defense had some strong plays.  An interception, a forced fumble, a blocked PAT and nearly another blocked PAT.  The UWW d-line was so big, strong and fast that the Logger backs had no way around them.  When the Loggers did air it out, the UPS receivers seemed to be able hold their own against the UWW secondary.

On offense, the Warhawk o-line just blocked where they needed to and it gave the UWW running back the opportunity to run wherever he wanted.

I hope that the glance the Loggers had at the national champs will help them come NWC season though it's tough to say how.  UPS gets a bye this week before heading down to Menlo and after two weeks of watching this game film, I'm sure they will be read to chop down some Oaks!!! (I know, bad pun!)

Had I known PLU was Black and Gold (the hated Pittsburgh Steelers colors) I may have reconsidered my enrollment there.  :P
