11,
I notice that both Boehme and Franklin are listed in the participation list in the stats from yesterday's game.  I was having internet problems so missed most of the game but did not hear any mention of them in the game yesterday.  I didn't see Ford's name on the list so was curious as to why the other two were mentioned when I thought they all were off the roster currently.

Maybe that refers to them doing signals on the sideline to the qb that was playing in the game. Neither one was dressed down but both were calling signals in....

Or perhaps their duplicate jersey guys got in and were mistaken for these guys.

And C-M beat SJU along with Bethel who was ranked like #4 in the D3football.com Top 25 Poll! And SJU was like #3 at one point this year!

Was, was, was, was was, was was. No more. Neither will be in the Top 25 next week.

Just pointing out that sometimes there seems to be a Midwest/East Coast bias in the poll.  A bunch of the teams from about 5-20 are there because they have a good record but they don't play anybody.

Hardin-Simmons rated at a low (IMHO) #21 played the #3 team in the country UMHB down to the wire, loosing by only 2 points at UMHB. And Linfield barely lost to Hardin-Simmons in their 1st game on the road. So Linfield should be in the top 25.  ;D

As should UW-La Crosse and Louisiana College if close losses alone were worth something.

Blue,  I'm pretty sure it is not an assumption, I could be wrong but I believe Ford was the starting RB in the first game but was injured early and has not played since.

That's kind of my point....

Tough loss for HSU to since they lost in on PATs (I don't know if they were missed or blocked but that was the difference in the game for them).

Yeah, Monrovia - That sounded like it must have been an interesting game. HS scored 3 TDs and probably should have won on the road if not for the extra point blunders. I was surprised (and a bit happy) to see that score.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Did Menlo do the Haka dance before the game? Our opponent on Friday did it.

La Crosse is 0-4. One loss was 45-7 and another was 31-0. That's not that close... ???

But the HSU loss was close. I am sure Linfield would've lost to I-AA scholarship North Dakota and UW-Whitewater in just as ugly a way.

There are lots of duplicate numbers....our starting qb yesterday was #7 while Jaymin Jackson is also number 7.  I'm sure that's the case.

Reggie Ford was the starter at HSU but was out early with the injury.  I hope we can get him back by Willamette...it will be a bonus for sure.

Ive been thinking about what to post for 12 hours now.  First, what a wonderful venue to play in, the stadium full standing room in the end zones but basically full, gorgous scoreboard, sponcers, full scale announcers, very cool program.  Years ahead of Menlo with a winning tradition and very deep roster.  However watching the game unfold I must conclude I was under impressed.  Yes the defense was good, Taylor Sommers, HS teammate of my son, #13 for Menlo, was dominate and very amimated with Tony on one of the 4 sacks he had.  Our coach basically self destructs our offense, switching QB's at a whim.  he should stick to one and then the other could transfer to Linfield and help you guys out as Linfield was crippled at that position. Menlo dropped a pass in the end zone, granted, after it was tipped, and missed a chip shot FG.  Certainly not crying, but there also seemed to be a couple home town calls as well.  Frankly, even with Linfield superior depth and maturity in their program, this game sould have gone either way.  Injuries cant be the whole story, as Menlo #1 RB (souza #5) went down as well as Trescott #18, their best play maker, was out(as usual) with some type of foot injury.  I believe Linfield is in big trouble this year unless balance can be had with whatever QB's they have left.  Menlo has talent, but lacks continuity which comes from coaching, some of the teams left on your schedule do not have that problem..All said what a great weekend in a wonderful town for football, thanks for the hospitality and good luck the balance of the season, you will need it, it seems MD#13  :-\

.....not. We would brush them off like dandruff!  ;D

menlodaddio13 ....there were a lot of woulda, coulda, shouldas on both sides of the ball but in the end it's Menlo 0 Wildcats 9. And I think our record against Menlo is 9-0 or something like that. So it made some sense for us to have that as the final score. We planned it that way as a commemorative jesture.  ;)

PS...glad you enjoyed the festivities!

wildcat11

menlodaddy,

That TD wasn't "dropped"  Patin stripped the ball from the WR in the endzone.  That's not a drop but a head's up play by the defense (I have it on film on 3 different angles).

It didn't matter though as Menlo wasn't going to score enough anyways.  However you're right that we need much better production at QB.  In the games of "if's" we should have scored much, much more yesterday and it should have been it walk but it was what a was...a defensive struggle.

menlodaddio13

yes sir, but 10 points is 10 points huh?

really enjoyed your palace cant wait to come back as a "senior" actually went to woodburn outlet mall then across and had an interesting $2.00 ferry ride across the Willamette River, very cool , just went thru the pictures they probably were the highlite  :)

We will get up on UPS next week and Ill feel better, they dont like to travel to Cally 8)  I think we can handle there QB to some extent at least enough to win, maybe not as big as last year, but definately a win so watch your pick 'em..
