Hey! I used to have a sign in my dorm room that read wukicker way!! It was given to me because the highway dept. said it was dangerous because people always turned wide right .

Go Cats!

Welcome aboard, wukicker!  It's great to have another Bearcat voice on board.

Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but according to my research, Liz Heaston outscored Linfield in the one game she played.

And I'd say Matt Bicocca had oh . . . a decent game against the Wildcats last year.

Welcome wukicker,

Next week is going to be BIG.

GO CATS
one game at a Time
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Well I finally got caught up on my reading: fall break in the land of no computers!  Who knew I'd be 15 pages behind!  Here's hoping we crunch the oipponents this week and are not caught looking ahead.  That would be bad!!  Glad to hear that Coco and Mrs. Coco got to the game last week.  I tried to call from the land before time but couldn't even get the message thing to work.  Rats!!  Oh, probably should have used another expletive!  On second thought, that is OK as we have already taken them out this season!

GO WILDCATS!  WE NEED A HUGE WIN!  NO FUMBLES!  SOME DEFENSIVE SCORING!  AND SOME GREAT OLINE WORK!
Love, Olinemom

Just saw the Triple Take article that mentioned both Linfield and WU as potentially falling into trap games this weekend.  Hope they both role (god, it hurt to say that about Linfield) - will make for one helluva game next week for both sides.

I've been checked out of the loop for too long, but:  anybody know of any logic for NWC scheduling?  I know it rotates around, but it seems that we alternated  from Linfield  to PLU as our last game while I was there - but no longer is the case. It'd be great to always have WU and Linfield finish the season against each other.  Little things like that, in my opinion, help stoke those rivalries.

MonroviaCat - nice one, but sorry to let you down, not her.

As for the handle, wildcat11, I can take it.  What's sports without some good rivalry smack-talk - or kicker bashing?  Been there, heard it all.

Shank you very much, f*c*ing kicker!

Sorry I'm so late today but I just posted up the "Around The CatdomeO'sphere" link dump on the ADvantage.  Some good reading from around the conference.

That's a great article about Whitman.  Thanks for that, 11.  I remember you did an interview with the AD from Pacific a while ago.  Have you (or anybody else) heard anything more about progress the Boxers might be making to bring football back?

Foss High? What a stupid-ass sounding name. Only dummies would chose to go to school there.  ;D

coco, Believe it or not back during the college days a buddy of mine told me about a street in NE Portland near where he was brought up that was named Foss. He said one night we should all go up there and grab a little souvenir for my dorm room. Well, we made the trip late one night, stared at the sign, and chickened out. Must have been that Linfield ethics thing kicking in.

The dorm I lived in at PLU was FOSS HALL, our wing was called THE ZOO  ;D

WUKICKER,

Welcome to the board, always nice to have another non (wild)cat fan.  As a PLU grad here's hoping your guys fall into that trap game tomorrow.

The NWC schedule is difficult with an odd number of teams, plus I'm thinking the conference has morphed it's make up so many times that true rivalries at the end of the season just aren't there.

The obvious one now would be PLU-UPS and I guess from the way many of you talk Linfield-Willamette.   Great rivalries are borne from great games though so the PLU-UPS one has been rather one sided of late.  In the 70's UPS was NCAA D2 so we couldn't compete with them and stopped scheduling them.  Then they dropped down to NAIA and the games were good for the first few years (starting with our upset of them in front of 14,000+ to open the Tacoma Dome in '83) but has heavily favored PLU over the past 2 decades.

When I played our rival was Linfield.  Frosty generally kept us focused every week but PLU-Linfield was the game that would make or break the season, usually.

11, enjoyed the link to the Whitman article.

Any idea why northwest schools seem to have a hard time keeping football programs going while we don't seem to see this in other parts of the country.  Cost? Lack of history? Anti-football students and/or faculty?  Linfield/PLU being TOO dominate and multiple losing seasons leading to cancelling program?  Or is my premise false to begin with?  How many other small schools have dropped their programs since say 1970?  Pat Coleman, do you have any data on that?
