PolecatPress, me boy....

Good:
QuoteLinfield has taken charge of the rivalry
Better:
Quotethey've compiled a 14-1 record against Willamette since 1975.
Best:
Quotethe Wildcats have been winners in 30 of the last 37 games

Best predictor of future behavior being past behavior, one might conclude IF the WILDCATS do not give the game away against the more highly ranked team they can pull this one out. See Whitworth 10/11/08.

Two articles for your reading pleasure this week.

Recap of PLU:
http://www.willamettecollegian.com/2008/10/22/bearcats-break-scoring-record-in-pacfic-lutheran-rout/

And my Linfield preview:
http://www.willamettecollegian.com/2008/10/22/team-prepares-for-“game-of-the-year”/

One stat that got cut out of the preview article that I don't think I've seen mentioned yet on this board is that Willamette has the conference’s #1 offense and #2 defense, while Linfield has the conference’s #2 offense and #1 defense.

B-Press, +1 on the write-ups.  I hope it's the longest 30 minute drive of Speckman's life after saturday's game.  :)

Andy, Boehme I believe is going to take the med. red-shirt.  Not 100% on that but I'm pretty sure he's leaning that way.  Having both Fanklin and Boehme with 2-years left after this season should make every 'Cat fan smile.

Cory's hip never did fully recover from 2007 and he had to stop playing.  It was a tough but wise decision for his health.  He would have been a huge bonus this season but I wish him the best.  A good guy.

Great pre-analysis of the game Wildcat11. I have to agree on most all of your wisdom. I do however have one thing that I would differ on. I believe that the QB in that offense is the most important and the sweeper is second most important. They haven't had a great sweeper in a few years, and this year they are doing better because the sweeper is better. Plus in recent years, their qbs have been younger and still needed experience running the system. I believe the qb is the most important part because he has to make the plays when things break down and has to run, pass and do all those timing type handoffs effectively for their offense to move the ball.

It was great to learn what a BearCat was. I didn't know that they used their tail to dig for food and bounce around on like a pogo stick. I agree with coco that they do look like an Opossum.

Great job W11. I totally agree with your defensive game plan. If the defense stays within themselves and don't try to be a hero, we will stop that fly mumbo-jumbo. Stay in your lanes and they will come to you.
Thats the way our High School defense had to play agianst the wing-t. Once you stray outside of your lanes they get the big plays.

Can't wait tell Saturday. Another 1100 mile trip. I am sure it will be a nice ride home.

I would put some of my own winnings from the Venetian slot tourney   8)  towards a Division III All-Star game we could all meet at.
What saw you NWC'ers?

I'll give you credit for at least posting up before the game.

Come on now 11, don't be hatin'.  I want BearcatFan to stick around for a while.

11 - You're probably still PO'd about the last-second defeat in 2007.

I'm sure the Bearcats will make the game a bit more "one-sided" this time.

No, I'm still doing blackflips over losing that game last season.   ::)

I made my comment because its become almost an annual tradition where new Bearcat posters roll on the board for about two weeks right around the Linfield game.  I'm surprised there isn't more of you coming out the woodwork since Willamette is actually legit this season.

I'm just surprised that Speckman isn't running around the women's soccer team trying to find another female kicker so WU can get another pub grab.   ;D
