Not being a close observer but I have to ask who's fault are those turnovers?  Certainly you can not blame the coaches.

Completely unacceptable. The turnovers, lack of staying disciplined to the fundamentals IS the coaches fault...These are 19-20 year old kids that need to be COACHED UP.

Having 2 game losing streaks to Whitworth and Willamette doesn't and shouldn't happen to this football program, especially losing all 4 of those games with poor fundamental play.

6-3 doesn't work for Linfield football.

Congrats to Willamette...go win the NWC's 3rd National Title.

Great game, Wildcats - one of the best football games it's been my pleasure to attend.

About the only other thing I can say is, respectfully...

I feel spiritof86's frustration...Can't agree with toasting Coach Joe...but I do agree with downtown48 about what's going on with the fundamentals of the game.....facemask penalties happen to even the most disciplined players...but the almost weekly turnover/errors has almost become routine.... I tuned into the game early and was too discouraged to post "hello" or "goodbye"....but gotta thank MonroviaCat for all the PBP postings.

I believe Joe will turn it around as he matures as a headcoach...Inspite of the turnovers Joe's record is better than Locey's at this point in his career.

Congratulations to Willamette...it sound like they are the real deal this season....hope you represent the NWC well.

Hey!  Was the SOU score a typo?  Whoaaaaa!  I'm going to check the d3football scoreboard and make sure that hasn't been changed:)
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Not a mistake. I think we foreshadowed this possibility well this week -- UMHB was my Triple Take pick for Top 25 team to be upset.

Proud Papa Joe

Just got done having dinner with my son. We are sitting here in his dorm room and visiting.

As for the Game- Willamette is the real deal. Good sound offense and steady eddy defense. They didn't make many mistakes and capitilized on our mistakes. Ran and Passed the ball well. Hardley any penalties. Good team. Hope they do well in the playoffs. Go deep Bearcats. Win it all if the Wildcats aren't there. If we are there look out.

Time to go. Have to drive home. Will probably sleep somewhere along the way. See you all at the WOU game. Thanks for the hospitality.

Not sure what to say about the PLU-UPS game.  As a Logger fan, it was frustrating to see the offense just run the ball up the gut every play.  I know that the team has been built back up on the running game but Rory Lee isn't back there anymore and UPS has some quality wide receivers.  That said, two of the seven times that Kavin put the ball in the air, it was picked off so hats off to the Lutes secondary for absolutely shutting down the Logger passing game.

PLU is not as bad a team as I expected them to be.  Their receivers stepped it up and Byrne had a great game.

I'm really not looking forward to a fired up Linfield team coming to Tacoma next week...it could be ugly.

In addition to turnovers this stat tells a lot.
                                                         WU     LC
TOTAL OFFENSE YARDS...........      428      459
  Total offense plays.........       43       78
Average Gain Per Play.......     10.0      5.9
Go Cats!

....you did good on that one. Everybody in the NWC knows that SOU is a good team.

WU should move up a bit in the polls this week, beating #23 Linfield, with #3 UMHB losing to unranked SOU (WU beat them 31-23)  and #4 Wheaton (Ill.) losing to #7 North Central (Ill.)

C'mon D3 Pollsters - show WU some love!  :-*

Not sure if any of those teams will fall below Willamette. I wonder if Willamette would still beat SOU if it had to travel halfway across the country to do so. Just thinking out loud, though. There are plenty of ballots on which Willamette was behind some of the other teams that lost today, so there are points to be won.

Willamette did a great job. They just pretty much over powered Linfield in every phase of the game. They were especially good at the skill positions. I thought the line play was even.

I still don't understand our punt formation that lead to 2 touchdowns. And I'm not sure why Willamette didn't block or disrupt more of the punts.

I believe that Willamette is going to be a great playoff team. I thought if Linfield were to win today that we might go pretty deep, but now I feel that Willamette is the better team.

I've heard some stories about the Willamette Fans that are totally bush but if you can't prove it on the field you have to take the abuse I guess?

I think me an Tux will be going to Willamette for the 1st playoff game ....wonder who we'll be rooting for  ;D ?
