Any chance the NWC gets two in this year?  I think the MIAC will definitely only have one, as will the WIAC.  I'm not so sure the IIAC will be able to get two in but I am admittedly not too familiar with them and have not really been following that league too closely.

Bids are not tied to region - pool C is competition against the whole country, and if teams need to be moved to fill a bracket so be it.

And the WIAC will almost certainly have two bids IF UWSP and UWW both win out.

My advice....Do whatever momma wants to do?  If she says she doesn't care....don't believe it...unless she puts her arms around you and looks you right in the eyes and says, "no problem honey...why don't you and lil Buck make it a father and son time."
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

I don't think Linfield will be the best of the teams with two regional losses.

I have to agree with you. This years team is not a playoff team. If they would have beat Willamette it would be a different story because we would have probably had 2 losses going into the playoffs, even with the auto bid...

In 2004 and 5 we beat WOU like 55-7 both years. That Won't happen this year.

When Concordia-Moorhead traveled to Willamette, the Bearcat fans were very inappropriate towards the end of the game.

That doesn't surprise me...they promote bush type tactics over their because they are not used to winning and have become kind of immature and childish...

Really?

Can either of you be more specific?

I was at that game and didn't witness any "innappropriate" behavior

The typical "from the stands" players. Bunch of trash talking. I specifically remember some chant about "moral victories".

Just take off your rose glasses and smell the roses. There have been several posts that relate to this earlier....look it up. Plus from what I've heard from my sources. Some of it is too crude to put on the board.

I do know that one of your finest almost got stuffed in the porta-potty near the Linfield Tailgate because of his moronic behavior....

Right, Bluenote.  [sarcasm]I'm a bush league writer who's going to use my column space to rub this loss in all your faces for the next year.  Speckman's a bush type coach who encourages late hits and taunting.  Our players all cheat, our fans are all idiots, and Linfield is the Holy Grail of class.  Hell, I even steal wildcat11's sarcasm tags![/sarcasm]  I vote no on broad generalizations.

BuckeyeFvr, the "moral victories" chant was about Concordia using all three of their timeouts and scoring a TD with less than a minute left when they were down by 21 and we all wanted to go home.  I guess we have different definitions of "inappropriate."  So that you know, every Bearcat fan that I know has been cheering for the Cobbers every week since, and we wish you guys only the best.

Wait a minute, isn't this supposed to be a freaking football forum?  Maybe Pat can put up a "College Football Decorum" board?

In actual NWC discussion, any eyewitness reports from the Battle of Tacoma?  Is Menlo really that good?  Was L&C able to handle the bye?

"Typical" --- so not so much as to throw all Bearcat fans under the bus in a pubic forum?

I'll be interested to see how respectful the Concordia fans are when WU travels to Moorhead next year.

No...you're a loyal hack who is jumping on the bandwagon, nothing more. Take it to Salem for the Stagg Bowl and win..... and then you can flap your jaw.

I wasn't throwing anyone under the bus. It's typical at almost every game, everywhere, that there's someone playing from the stands.

And when you come to Moorhead, you will not see anything but class. Trust me. Even during the heated rivalries, students and fans are respectable. Obviously you don't know about Concordia's reputation. Ask any of the Linfield faithful about that.

Look, I don't want to pile on and try to take away from Willamette's fine win on Saturday because I have a lot of respect for Coach Speckman and his kids earned everything they achieved last Saturday. But I will be specific:

I film on the sideline and early in the game on Linfield's first TD drive I went into the North end zone to shoot and there were Bearcats students behind me (within 5 feet).  Within 10 seconds I hear someone right behind me say "Should I spit on him?"  I turn around and look at the kid and plainly said "What?"  The kid starts stammering and said "I mean what I said is 'should I spit near you?'" My reply was just "I don't think you want to do either."

Same group was YELLING at our student band saying " you f*&king suck", they told a father of one of the Linfield players just watching the game from the endzone to "get the f&^k out of here old man", etc.  It's one thing to get on the players on the field (that's fine with me) but a number of WU's students were way out of line and it's not the first time I've had an experience where WU students were riding Linfield fans way beyond anything that should be acceptable.

Now let me also say that two of my good friends from high school went to Willamette and I knew many of their teammates and friends and they were great people and I'm sure that the far great majority of students at Willamette are great people but it only takes a few jerkoffs to give a student fan base a bad name.

Willamette is going to be hosting a playoff game(s) and I would hope the administration at WU reins in these types of a**holes that could damper WU's on the field accomplishments.

That's the last I'll address this topic.

Concordia-Moorhead is a stand up program just like SJU. I have nothing but respect for them.
