Did the NWC get another team or something?  I guess I did not check and do my research.  Well, that's great news.  Even as a MIAC/SJU guy, I found that pretty troubling, especially given the NWC's competitiveness.  The teams have won post-season games consistently.

But weren't the facts there even if he stated them in shorthand layman's terms?

Sure if that's how you see it. To me, it was simply accusatory. ( FACTS is what I wrote!!!!!)

Now that there's some factual evidence that's come to light, it's easy to look back and say it was a factual post in "layman's terms"

BearcatFan,.....I've been part of the Linfield community from 1965, started as a prof's kid and now an alum with a son that just graduated last year, a wife alum, brother alum, a brother-in-law alum, father-in-law alum and former dean of admissions. need I say more!!
So I'm not saying I told you so, just take it easy on the board and get to know us before you sling s&^t!!.......... Remember.......FACTS!
Not every post has to have public records attached, I posted truth and you called me out, the funny part was, I new it was on your WU web site...check it out more often!!(thank you bearcatpress)

Stick around........just respect us who have come before you! We are not all a$$ holes, we just love Football the greatest game of all and back our team.

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

WOW- Do any of you people work. Today is only Monday. I checked the board Sunday afternoon and rechecked it Monday night. From Sunday to Monday there is about 8 pages of post. I started to read them but then I started to skim them and then I just paged forward. But the one about the blowhorn caught my eye. The 509 Rat seems to think the blowhorn was a Linfield person. Well you are wrong. The kid with the Blowhorn was from Fairchild AFB and grew up in the State of Washington. Just there for the game and no Linfield Fan. He was a little out of hand but he didn't tell any adults to F-off.

With that said some of you need to get jobs.

So good luck this weekend to all and may the Cats keep there streak alive.

The only thing I called you out on was the way you phrased your "question" (see below).

I'm curious though - if you knew the info was on the WU website, why not link to it instead of implying something so ambiguous that it could be construed as an accusation?

Present facts, and let people argue the facts for the sake of Clarity.

Any truth to the fact that the head ref was a Willamette Grad?  ???

Just heard it from a D3.com source that will remain anonymous  ;D.

Unbelievable -  let's try for some clarity here, shall we?

You ask a question and phrase it as "Any truth to the fact that the head ref was a Willamette Grad?"

Facts ARE Truth - there should be no question. Posting as such in this forum without  corroboration is simply deflamatory.

So, Tuxguy - who in this list is a WU Alumni?:

Referee: Michael Batlan  •  Umpire: Paul Collard  •  Linesman: Jim Richards  •  Line judge: Rich Troyer  •  Back judge: Gerry Rasch  •  Field judge: Bob Rose  •  Side judge: T. Migchelbrink •  Scorer: Tom McFadden  •

All water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned.

Go Bearcats!

Finally - I know the coaches tend to reward the conference champion, but I don't see how anyone but Adam Anderson can be the offensive player of the year again.

I know Adam is a great player but I keep seeing the Woo guy from Willamette either running for a touchdown or catching a long bomb wide open for one. Not to make him look bad but he also dropped 2 TD passes in the Linfield game that were pretty much right to him that could have made the score even uglier. I'd vote for Woo based on the overall success of Willamette this year and how he's been contributing overall with runs, catches and returns.

As for the Pirates, they survived a struggle at Menlo.  The Oaks seem to always play the Pirates tough in California.

Freshmen QBs played entire game at Menlo, and did well (from what I can gather from the radio and post-game reports).

A lot of young QB's playing for several teams due to all the injuries this year.  Next year may be a very "offensive" NWC.    As for Adam Anderson---I think statistically right now he is the Offensive Player of the year but there are still a few more games to go.  What is interesting is that Wilamette has does not have a guy with the stats to compete with Anderson but I think that is one reason they are winning every week---they have several guys who can beat you....

Interesting post Blue.  The problem is that Willamette also as Horne who's numbers are close to the same as Woo.  Not to mention Anderson averages about 2 TD's a game while Woo only averages just over 1.  I think both guys are deserving of honors but as it stands right now it would be snub if Anderson was not given the honor.  But, as I posted just a second ago---there are still some games to be played.

....maybe that's why Willamette is doing so well if they have 2 guys like that on one team. I just based my thoughts on what I saw at the CatDome for both teams/players. Maybe I was just more impressed with Willamette's scheme....Whitworth was pretty vanilla and didn't really highlight Anderson in a way he could maybe "look" better.

I think what you saw was the difference in the teams.  Whitworth was pretty one dimensional which allowed the Cats to key off of Anderson while Willamette was able t get the ball in the air enough to keep the Cats guessing.  No doubt Woo had a better game than Anderson against the Cats but Anderson has put together one heck of a season.  I wonder what Anderson would have done if he was playing for Willamette.....would he have benefited from playing on a better team or would he have been hurt from not being the only show in town (and I don't mean any of this as hostile or to offend the Rat fans/players----I think we can agree that Whitworth has primarily been the Adam Anderson show this year).

The best part about Willamette's current offense is that it has even more threats than that. Jose Green, Deon Horne, Merben Woo, Marcus Woo, Jamiere Abney... All can run the ball, Many would start on most teams. That being said, many run from being split out. Even Senior FB Cody Anthony can rumble.
Even if the running game gets stopped (as it was at times vs. Linfield), Willamette can air it out.

I can't help but think that the thing that really makes all of those guys a threat is the O-Line for the Bearcats.  I don't suppose we'd see the offenseive "player" of the year be an entire Offensive Line.....  :)
