Proud Papa Joe

Gig- No can do. You will have to have a tea without me. Church Harvest festival this weekand and I have to work and play. Always alot of fun. See you all at the Cat Dome in two weeks. Have to give the squirles in the camry a rest.

As for the playoff, win out and let the chips fall where they fall. Its all computerized and we all know what that means, garbage in garbage out. Life goes on and the Cats will live to play another day.

Um...no, not this year.

I disagree...we have the ability...we just haven't done it in 2 games against 2 VERY GOOD opponents. We could have won either of those games without a few breakdowns. It's not like we weren't competitive. We had our chances......we came back from a 28-0 score according to D3football.com reporters and we closed the score to 28-31. We had breakdowns from that point after being in a huge hole. If we could have carried on with the momentum from that point we could have knocked off the #2 team in the Nation.

Alright, alright...I should have conceded that Linfield "had the ability" to win on Saturday. I thought you were going down that road of "the better team lost" and I wasn't sure I could stomach that for a third straight year from you guys.

computerized?

QuoteWhat has happened to football at PLU?  Anyone know?

Sure - I have some theories as to why the Lutes are up and down and generally off their game lately. But I choose to keep most of them off the board. They'll be back. But the conference is stronger and deeper now, so it won't be easy. The biggest difference between last year (7-2) and this has already been identified - a huge, talented senior class graduated.

Top 25 Poll
Willamette is far better than their #11 ranking.

West Regional Rankings
This is even more absurd than the Top 25 poll.   3 SCIAC teams in the Top 7?   No Iowa teams?    Only one NWC team?     Is this a joke?

If Linfield played those 3 SCIAC teams, they would win at least two of them.

GO CATS! GO!

George

Redlands beat the NWC Champ in 2007 and pasted the defending champs this year. Seriously, take one play away from this years game and Whitworth would have had 100 yards of total offense. Get off your HIGHHORSE!! Linfield has not got it done three years in a row. Go cry in your milk about scheduling. Wahhhhhhhh! You and Blue sound like a bitter baby.

UPS football practice was delayed nearly two hours yesterday after players reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field.  Head coach Phillip Willenbrock immediately suspended practice while police and federal agents were called in to investigate.  After a complete analysis, forensic experts determined that the white substance, unknown to the players, was the goal line.  Practice was resumed today after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again.

RFB when was the last time Redlands played the Cats now? You can't dodge us and then bad mouth us ;) When was the last time Redlands beat the Cats? (For clarification Linfield has won all five games in this series and have outscored Redlands 211-77 over the five games.)

In my mind Redlands will always be known to me for being the birth of the Linfield spread offense. First game, 1999, came out in 2 backs power I pregame, then ran 3 wide single back all game long. :) that was fun!

My response is primarily based on the assumption that Linfield would have no problem beating Redlands, Oxy, and Cal Lu by GT & Bluenote. Linfield backers are very bitter that they are not the program of 2004/2005. It is evident in the posts here on Saturday and Sunday with backers calling for Coach Smith's head.

Redlands and Linfield have not played since 2003 in a close playoff game. Get over it and move on. It really seems that is the only played out argument that Linfield backers can hold onto now days. Wow, we're not getting it done on the field again. Hey, lets bitch about Redlands and the schedule again. That will make me feel better. Redlands replaced Linfield with Trinity (TX) and Whitworth who was your CHAMP!!!!!!!! for two years.

You're correct. Two games were close and three were blowouts. I've never that I recall disputed the end result. Both programs are very different in scope now.

RFB #1 the winky smiley means  it's a playful jab not a grand indictment so lower the the lasers. #2 I hate the 6 degrees of separation method of determining a better team, did ya beat Whitworthless? then you were better that day. Did ya beat Texas, hey maybe they're better than you.

The point I made about Linfield before and maintain now is, they were down for a couple of years before and they went on to win a whole mess of conference titles, playoff games, and eventually a national championship.

You said that a large portion of the Cat Nation are still reveling in past accomplishments; Part of the problem debating/arguing/banging your head against a brick wall with a Linfield guy is that our present and past are intertwined. The belief on our part (at least mine) with the traditions and history behind us the past is bound to repeat itself (as it has on the national stage 3 times, and the conference stage countless others)

Next time, use WC11's sarcasm brackets. I'm much more used to those. I've never downplayed Linfield's proud history as a football program, just some of their idiotic backers that can't give any amount of respect to other programs. Redlands has a long and proud history as well.
