Next time, use WC11's sarcasm brackets. I'm much more used to those. I've never downplayed Linfield's proud history as a football program, just some of their idiotic backers that can't give any amount of respect to other programs. Redlands has a long and proud history as well.

Completely off the topic, but one of my favorite high school teachers played for Redlands.

Redlands turns out a lot of teachers. Very good education program. If he was there in the early to mid 90's I played with him.

Indeed, my grandfather and grandmother were teacher from Redlands.  I think maybe my grandfather even played football for Redlands but I'm not sure.....

Quotethey are not the program of 2004/2005

Past records
1999 (6-3, 3-2 NWC)
2000 (9-1, 5-0 NWC)
2001 (7-2, 4-1 NWC)
2002 (10-1, 5-0 NWC)
2003 (11-1, 5-0 NWC)
2004 (13-0, 5-0 NWC)
2005 (10-1, 4-0 NWC)
2006 (6-3, 5-1 NWC)
2007 (6-3, 4-2 NWC)
2008 (4-2, 3-1 NWC)

We are cranky because we want to, at least, be the program of 2000. You see, RFB, those one loss years were playoff losses. No automatic bid. Just beat Redlands and any team in the way and take yer chances with the committee.
We are cranky because our conference finagles an auto bid and we have not taken advantage.
Cranky, perhaps, that if we had a 10th game win over Redlands, we'd look better to whatever committee throws scraps to teams that could not win the conference.
Yeah, Fantasy Island dwellers: We came out of the 80's with a strut shared with PLU who had one loss in conference, was selected, and then ran the table. If they could do it, why shouldn't we be able to?
Why wouldn't Redlands want the feather in their cap of beating LINFIELD and perhaps contribute to ending THE STREAK, I wonder?

            ANTHRAX SCARE AT UPS

UPS football practice was delayed nearly two hours yesterday after players reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field.  Head coach Phillip Willenbrock immediately suspended practice while police and federal agents were called in to investigate.  After a complete analysis, forensic experts determined that the white substance, unknown to the players, was the goal line.  Practice was resumed today after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again.

Well now you just don't know what you are talking about since the Loggers have an artificial surface practice field so there would be no need for chalk!  ;D

Old joke but given the current circumstances in Loggerland, it is fitting.  My sole goal for the Loggers this week it to reach 20 points...Linfield can score 100 for all I care, I just want to see our offense do something, ANYTHING!!!

RFB not get in a pissing match but... what history are you talking about?

Since 1910
29 Conference championships, 5 NCAA 1st round play-off losses, and a 54% winning percentage...

Now the 29 Conference titles are kind of impressive (I'm not a huge fan of the overall strength of the SCIAC, few here are)... 54% winning percentage strikes me as being just above medicore.

Linfield is at 32 Conference titles, 4 national Championships and an impressive 68% winning percentage... oh yeah obligatory Streak reference too

Redlands has been playing football for close to 100 years. That's a pretty long time and they do have a long and proud history. Has Linfield enjoyed more overall success? Yep, they sure have.

You just reinforced my point about lack of respect. I guess I need to add you to the group along with Blue & GT. Not to nitpick your stats but Redlands did play for the 1976 NAIA Championship.

Yep, Tony was a backup quarterback.

Well I'll be. Small world. For my curiosity, did he ever eventually start?

Now don't take your ball and go home, we're having a good little conversation here... try and persuade me here big guy.. I want to believe in the power of the SCIAC.
Ok so when was the last time a SCIAC team won a national title? When did a SCIAC team advance passed the first round of the play-offs? How many times before getting the auto-bid did the SCIAC get multiple teams in pool B? If you're winning your conference title vs. the weak sisters of the south then your claim is not exactly meritorious.
