Give me a break Pat

With all of the marginal crap that is put up on all of the boards ,  At least this old material is a spin about  football and defense, or lack of O- rather than frickin hamms beer and ice fishing

Again give me a break.

GHC

Please. It's not about football either. It's just a lame joke.

Your jokes aren't that funny either but we don't complain about it ad nauseum.

I wasn't aware that one complaint qualified as ad nauseam in McMinnville.

....it's a small town.  ;D

Hey!  I have an idea for those that bleed Cardinal and Purple! Let's all put on our Stagg Bowl gear and go as Champions to the Halloween party tonight!

Ah, that's a kid. We'll be turning in early because there is a game tomorrow and wilder things have happened than WU losing the next two games or, heaven forbid!, they are found to have a small violation somewhere and have to fofeit all their games.

Thanks TDT,
  You know how I roll.

Actually not Tooth,  the Cats L is just that, anyone that has ever played sport one knows to just flush the L have a short memory and start getting ready for the next game.
I only say that because there are several on here that think a cup is what you drink your lattte out of. (you know who you are)

GHC out

Excellent attitude Gig . . . and I hear that the little cups with the lattes can be quite interesting if one adds a bit 'o the irish . . . . hmmm . . . time for a run to the city by the bay and visit the Buena Vista.

Good luck this week.

So I'm guessing that "butt biting" contests in the dorms of Linfield isn't what it might have been in the 70's . . . at Oxy . . .

GrizzTheLogger

Can I just say that I really hope the Linfield players are thinking about the SCIAC this week as much as the Linfield fans are?  Maybe then they will forget they have a game tomorrow in Tacoma and we will win by forfeit!!!!  ;D

Gotta love UPS week... especially UPS week right before Willamette or Whitworth... Practice plan looked like this:
Monday: Film,
Tuesday: Next Opponent,
Wednesday: Next Opponent,
Thursday: UPS,
Bento Friday: Pregame Walkthrough,
Saturday: Play 1/2 a game.

... I actually think Willamette may get to the Stagg Bowl this year.

Before you put them in the Stagg Bowl they should at least win the NWC.  Just for the sake of keeping interest in the games, here are the possibilities still out there.  All are predicated upon Willamette losing to both UPS and Menlo.  If WU wins one more game the only teams that could tie them are PLU and/or Linfield, both of whom lose the head to head tie breaker.

Current Record followed by games remaining:
WU (4-0), UPS & Menlo
Linfield (3-1), UPS & PLU
PLU (2-1), WW, Menlo, LF
Whitworth (2-2), PLU & L&C
Menlo(1-2), L&C, WU, PLU
UPS (0-3), LF, WU & L&C
L&C (0-3), Menlo, WW, UPS

Scenarios:
1.   Willamette loses to UPS and Menlo, finishes 4-2.  Linfield beats UPS and PLU, finishes 5-1.  Linfield wins the conference outright.
2.   Willamette loses to UPS and Menlo, finishes 4-2.  PLU beats Whitworth, Menlo and Linfield, finishes 5-1.  PLU wins the conference outright.
3.   Insert numerous possibilities here that end in 3 way 4-2 ties that generally favor Willamette.  Including (but not limited to: WU-PLU-LF, WU-WW-Menlo, WU-LF-Menlo).
4.   Willamette loses to UPS and Menlo, finishes 4-2.  Menlo beats L&C, WU, and PLU, finishes 4-2.  Linfield loses to UPS and PLU finishes 3-3.  PLU loses to Whiworth and Menlo, beats Linfield, finishes 3-3.  Whitworth beats PLU and loses to L&C, finishes 3-3.  Menlo wins the head to head with Willamette and wins the conference.
5.   Willamette loses to UPS and Menlo, finishes 4-2.  Linfield beats UPS, loses to PLU, finishes 4-2.  PLU beats Whitworth and Linfield, Loses to Menlo, finishes 4-2.  Menlo beats L&C, WU, and PLU, finishes 4-2.  (4 way tie)

Conference automatic bid tie breakers, from the NWC website (I think it was Griz that first posted this a couple weeks ago)
6.1.1 The team receiving the NCAA AQ will be determined by the following
procedure:
1. Best Conference Record
2. If two-way tie – Head to Head Result
3. If three-way tie – Head to Head among three, 2-0 advances
4. If three-way tie without 2-0 record – record vs. 4th place team
5. If still three-way tie – Over all Record
6. If still three-way tie – Last team to go receives AQ

FWIW, I think Willamette wins out and I'll be pulling for them in the playoffs.

I sure hope you're right.

Having been spoiled by eight consecutive weeks of football, I'm going to feel deprived on Saturday.  To try and make up for that, I'll be heading up to Portland tonight to watch my high school play Estacada.  Incidentally, my high school (La Salle) is coached by former Lewis & Clark QB and coach Mike Fanger.

high school state championship was two weeks ago up here in Alaska, so I'm done with Live football for the season.  All I got now is this board, Internet radio, and all that D1 stuff on TV.  Bummed last night that I didn't get ESPNU.  Heard Skyline High of Issaquah, Wa. was scheduled to be on and wanted to catch it.  Settled for Cincinatti-South Florida.
