Give Me A Five.....Give Me A Three......What Does That Spell ???  Fifty Three .....yep, 53!!!

Congrats to all Cats.....One Year At A Time......A tradition that NO OTHER COLLEGE FOOTBALL TEAM  IS EVEN CLOSE TO MATCHING!

Well, Michigan was in the same zip code, but their loss today guaranteed a losing season for the first time in 41 years. :(
:)
Go Cats!

...What were you back then?...

1. 70 lbs lighter  :(
2. An average player on a very good team
3. D-line
4. Single with no kids  ;D

Unless that was rhetorical then............ nevermind.

Hey, I'm with you on numbers two and four, but it was longer ago than 28 years for me.  I haven't gained quite 70 pounds, but I'm working on it. I was an O-lineman, and funny thing, Speedy was my name, too. It still is!
Two words:  THE STREAK

yea but as to #4, my OLDEST just turned 6 last week (I've always been a little slow starting  ;D ).

I was "Yukon Jack", a moniker given to me by former teammate and current PLU coach, after I returned from one summer in the Alaska Bush in dire need of haircut and a shave  ::)

SPEEDYBIGBOY was the name of a horse I threw down on in '96 at the Meadowlands Harness Race Track.

.....wow, we're all Speedy's! Got caught running down the hall in Jr. High. The old lady teacher grabbed me by the ear and said..."what's your name!!!?....I said..."Speedy Gonzalas Mam"....she sent me straight to the vice principles office for detention!

Hey Blue, did your migraine go away?  :P

Is this board not a place to opine about where the LINFIELD defense has headed?  I'm confused about what happened.
I do not know what kind of team shows up on Saturdays. Win and I suppose it's entertaining.

I'd rather opine on our lack of offense myself.  I mean, yeah we scored 32 pts but we didn't move the ball well at all.  At least we didn't lose any fumbles in this game.....
Go Cats!

OK  I was at the game and granted it was ugly, but over the years I have seen several ugly games at UPS.  The Loggers played well at times, and our Cats actually looked like they had a hangover from last week, they were flat.  Just an opinion.  Just another example of why you can't just show up and phone it in !!  Ya gotta play it !  It will be good for the boys to get back to the Catdome, with The Streak at 53 in the books and an opportunity to finish strong.  See you all at Sparks in two weeks.  I will have lots of leftovers from yesterday, since it was a light turnout ( you will never know the diff)

Oh and unlike others we don't charge or have collection jars at our tailgates--  Just show up and party!!

Did I read this correctly, did GHC just say you "can't phone it in"?  Oh my---it must have been a small turnout at the tailgate....are you sure there are any leftovers though ? :)

And yes there were, they are out in the truck.  Mojo munched on them a little while the game was on, but if I bring them to Sparks in two weeks they will be just fine.

Peace Out

GrizzTheLogger

I'm finally able to get on the board and I'd like to give a UPS opinion.  From what I heard from the Logger broadcast and looking at the stats, it looks like the Loggers won quarters 2-4 but that first quarter was just awful.  If anyone knows how dangerous turnovers can be, it is the 'Cats but I was happy with the way the Loggers came back and fought hard.

I know Willamette has a special team this year but with the confidence the Loggers may have built yesterday after playing Linfield tough and the way UPS has played Willamette the last few years, I think it will be a lot better game than it looks on the surface.

I'd love to see both UPS and Menlo beat Willamette but I rather doubt it's gonna happen.  :(

Listened to the Linfield/UPS game on the radio.....15-14 Linfield at half. I think we had like 50 yards total offense in the 1st half?....... Whoops! I guess on the last play of the game UPS threw a pass that almost went for a score....whew!  :P

Judging from the stats, both could be opined. Give up 434 yards to UPS and only gain 28 net yards rushing vs. them? Had UPS not turned the ball over 4 times they likely would have had 500+ yards and maybe won.

I'm going to have to go with the "playing flat after knowing they almost certainly got knocked out of the playoffs last week" reasoning. Also, the pressure of getting the win in order to secure the streak might have been a factor, too. I'll take the W, though - even if it's ugly.

Coco – The new graphics are awesome, now you just have to change the 52 to 53.  :)
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Gig Harbor Cat

Hey Foss,
After watching this team all year, including yesterday, they just didn't look crisp to me.  I use the term flat for that.  I have coached teams that were on a run and then played what is supposed to be a sub par program and just played down to their level.  Or as I always say  Phoned it in !!

Not making excuses and again the important thing is that they got it done.
