And you were grounded for a month?  Ours was white with a black racing stripe.  We sold it in 1985 (after many repairs & engine rebuilds) to a guy who wanted to restore it.   Needed a car better suited to a baby seat. :D

I never allowed Sadie the Squirrel Monkey to ride in TJ's Plymouth SuperBird.

(Aside) Brother Robert is the gent who so nicely gave to Claremont Biz School awhile back.

We used to have a 66 Chevelle, Tudor Deluxe 200 w/ a short block 350 -- cool car, sweet ride.

Speaking of sweet rides, my wife drove a 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback in high school. Our son still has the '65 Mustang that he drove while in high school. He left it at home while he attended Linfield College. I sure looked "cool" driving it around town in his absence.

Do you drive it with the top down and the heat on?  That's the only way to ride in a convertible in Oregon in the Fall & Winter!

So, did anyone happen to notice that Linfield made it into the 2nd set of West Regional rankings.  Cal Lu & Concordia Moorhead are out.  WU is at #1 and Linfield at #10 -- looking better for our conference.

So Dens did you ever ride in the Superbird on the Portland trips on dimer night ?

Like many.....once. And that was enough.   :o

But I suckered for the Reno run too. :o   :o   :o

Given the bye week, I had the opportunity to do a profile on wide receiver Scott Schoettgen.  Regardless of who you root for, it's a pretty incredible story:

RP,
I went to school with TJ, he had the second coolest car on campus next to my
1070 Chevelle SS454.  Great article on him.

GHC

GHC yes making a run to the AC for a gut bomb in the "Red" SS454 with cowl induction :)

Just to add to the topic derailment...

My first car was a '68 Camaro. Base model, with a 283 2-barrel and a 2-speed automatic (wish I still ahd that car!). I was envious of my best friends mother's '70 Chevelle SS 396.  Deep Blue Metallic with the white stripes.

Now, back on topic - talked to a few Bearcat players today in a "drive-by" conversation and I can say with confidence... they're ready for UPS. These guys are confident (as well they should be outscoring opponents 43.2 to 17.5).

Thanks for the link, BCP! I spoke with Scott briefly while he was waiting for his lunch yesterday - just a congratulatory, "great season - keep it up" kinda thing, so it's good to read more about him.

I glanced at the article in the paper today and was just looking for it at www.willamettecollegian.com but couldn't find the whole article. Great story!

D.O.C.  Why do you get the cool ads & I only see the ones for Hotwire or losing weight?  Does P.C. target the ads he thinks we need to see?   :D  Pretty tricky & techy of him, if so.
