On another subject: I missed most (all?) of the buildup to the disappearance of Oxybob, but I hope he will keep reading SCIAC and NWC postings and come back to us.  I enjoyed his comments and insightful observations.

What makes you think OxyBob is gone?....I haven't heard anything about that. What are you speaking of?

Try this Blue---search for Oxybob and you'll find nothing.  He spent some time the other day deleting all of his posts and then deleted his account.  He is gone (at least in his known form).

OK....but what's the big build up to it, what happened to make him do it? I thought Oxy was a pretty good team and OxyBob was fine with me.........I haven't seen a thing on this board about it. Is it a SCIAC Issue?
As best as I can tell, Bob kept picking on some folks from Iowa who then started telling him "f*ck himself" and somehow it lead Bob to leave the board and take his posts with him....I'm guessing there is more to it than that but that's all I've seen....
Go Cats!

...that's too bad. I hope he joins back in the fun at some point.

Blue, it was on the SCIAC board and it sounded like it was a lot of old baggage and worn out jokes.  Even Pat C commented on it.  Next thing you knew, Oxy Bob was gone.   I, too, hope he'll be back.  He has some interesting insights on DIII basketball especially.  He's always been pretty funny where I sit.

Sorry about Linfield's loss Saturday -- really thought your guys could do it.  At any other school, they'd be considered a good team -- but I know expectations for Linfield are higher.  You do have THE STREAK.

Gig Harbor Cat

OB is back-- gotta love it--Stress relief at it finest.

stanbob

He has resurfaced on the SCIAC board, but no reasons for his disappearance.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

Well...we played them pretty tough. I think they thought they would blow us out like 45-0 or something like that. Didn't happen...... we actually out gained them, etc.

Pumping your gas?  Hmmm, saw Kevin Boss on TV last night, don't think that he will be pumping anyone's gas soon.  6 catches, 69 yards, TD.  Jeff Charleston (WOU-New Orleans Saints), a tackle in their game.  How did any Linfield players do in the NFL yesterday?  Oh wait, there aren't any.

C'mon Russ...errr, I mean Kellie, give it a rest.

Kevin Boss: 1-2 all-time vs Linfield with a grand total of 80 yards and 1 TD vs Linfield.  Good to see the 'Cats defense is a little stiffer than the Saints.  :)

I like Boss.  Not only a fantanstic player but seems like a great guy.  However, one great guy can't overcome a rep that has been built over many years and then just reconfirmed on Saturday.  Sorry.

BTW, Charleston transfered his senior year to Idaho so I guess you can still claim him too.

kellie

Jeff Charleston played at Western Oregon three seasons before transferring to Idaho State.  He grew up in Monmouth, as I recall the story, and wanted to see how he could do at the next level.

But of course, WOU fans claim him.  You claim Brett Elliot, don't you?

Pat Coleman

That is where he finished.

Well like PC said...Brett's diaploma says "Linfield College" not "Utah" so of course we claim him.  What does Charleston's diploma say?  "Idaho via Western Oregon Normal"?

I think Rudy Ruudiger (sp?) spoke at Linfield when I was enrolled...might as well add him to the list too WC11.

snoop dawg

Didn't Obama go to Linfield at one time? ;)  Or is he from Iowa?  (easy Mr. Y, just kidding)

bbaddict

So, where did all the Bearcat fans go?  Does anyone care that we're NWC Champs? or at least the AQ from the NWC?  Go Bearcats!

I thought Obama's connection was to OSU basketball?
