Didn't Obama go to Linfield at one time? ;)  Or is he from Iowa?  (easy Mr. Y, just kidding)

No worries!  I grew up in Illinois and have been in Michigan for almost 40 years - the heck with Iowa! ;D

(Well, I'll make an exception for Spencer, where my mom was born and raised. ;))

I was wondering if the people that schedule the games at Linfield noticed that after this Saturdays loss, Linfield had no votes in the Top 25 Poll. If you ever wondered if playing a team out of your division doesn't affect things....here is your proof. I hope they reconsider scheduling WOU next year and seek another DIII team or 2 to fill out the schedule.

BTW....Has WOU ever won their league in their division? Have they ever won a National Title in Football?.....Have they even ever gone to the playoffs in football?......did they win the game if they did?....just wondering.

In other words even if we do play them for some dumb reason, they really aren't worth it. I think we lead the series against them like 26-14 or something so I say we give them the boot.

Blue,

I cannot say either way but I do know Linfield's administration is working hard on getting Linfield another DIII game.  I do think that WOU will be on our schedule for at least one more season.  Could I be wrong?  Sure, but I see some slight changes on next year's schedule.

So, where did all the Bearcat fans go?  Does anyone care that we're NWC Champs? or at least the AQ from the NWC?  Go Bearcats!

I thought Obama's connection was to OSU basketball?

I posted a couple times after their win over UPS on Saturday.

At the very least, the Bearcats are NWC Co-Champions, so essentially they clinched the AQ and the championship.

One more win for an undefeated regular season - Go Bearcats!

I'm here, but this great university has me drowning in midterms as I'm trying to crank out an article that's due in . . . 2 hours.

But while I'm posting, here's the latest excerpt from my new book, "The Quotable Mark Speckman."  On defending Kavin Williams:

"You just can't simulate a guy like him in practice.  I mean, unless we put shoulderpads and a helmet on the dumpster."

Hey Blue, even better......try 45-14-3. We could lose to those pieces of crap every year for the next 30 years and still have the edge. By the way, several players yelling, "Yeah, make them bring out the paramedics!" among other things when Reggie Ford is lying near their sideline yelling in agony because of his knee injury AND NOT ONE COACH telling them to shut the hell up says it all. Hence, "pieces of crap." I know this because I spent most of the 2nd half on the Western Oregon School of the D-Bags side of the field. I know the term "no class" is thrown around a bit to liberally sometimes, but it can not be used frequently enough when describing those clowns.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

That's the most pathetic thing I've ever heard! I say we dump them....if we only play 8 games, that's fine with me.

No kidding.  That QB is really something.  If he ever gets some help, UPS will be tough to deal with.

Oh & BearcatPress --- good luck on your midterms!

Why does Linfield play WOU so late in the season?   Shouldn't they just play them as an opener or something?

And WOU did play in & win the Dixie Bowl last season.   They are usually pretty strong in the GNAC, I think.

Since the NWC has an odd number of teams one team has an open date each week during the conference season.  With the trouble Linfield has just getting teams to schedule them I suppose it has to do with just taking a game wherever they can get it.

Does the field that PLU plays on still have an Astro Turf type surface like Lewis and Clark or have they upgraded it to something like Field Turf?
