Thankfully, no more injuries.

Sorry, neither 18-9 nor 666 2/3% has a ring to it.

Back to the drawing board.

Though D&D did mention that Locey started out 18-6 in his first 3 years.....maybe we'll get a transfer or two....though we've got a abundance of QBs...maybe a D1 WR or two.... ;)
Go Cats!

D O.C.

This fan would settle for maybe one interception every other game, one fumble every 3 games (only one lost deep in our own territory), zero personal fouls, maybe a realistic 25 yards a game in penalties (none in crucial situations).

Keep the team we have.

oh yeah, replace the non Division III teams.  8)

Wildcat'64

How about scheduling a SIAC warm up team before Hardin Simmons next year?  It's a tough way to open the season when HS already has a tough game against a WIAC team under their belt.  Then we could drop WOU or SOU and help the Cats in the process.

Is Pacific not fielding a team after all of that proposed study?

Wildcat'64

Pacific did the study and proposed that they start in 2009 but nothing has happened to the best of my knowledge.  I would think that we would have heard by this time if they were going to be looking for scheduling opportunities for 2009.

I forgot about that. They were supposed to be starting up football again, weren't they?

Wouldn't that be great if we could play a SCIAC team before HSU? And then another SCIAC team later in the season.

Hey Coco,
Ah another perfect day in the Pacific NW.  As everyone knows our boys rolled em big.  the pre game story was that Stash had at least 25-30 PLU recruits on the sidelines watching the Lutes do their warmups.  The announcer made a point of advising all of the PLU recruits to move to the stands as the game was ready to start.  Wonder how many of them will be making a call to the Catdome !!  I did see several Cat recruits at the game today.  What a great showcase for the program.
Also the new turf is nice except for the frickiin Soccer lines all over the place.
Cat fans jammed the visitor side.  SRO !!

Life is good

GHC  Peace out

Another great win by WU today, although they scored well below their season average and put up just 7 points in the 2nd half. Now it's time to make some noise deep into the playoffs!

Go Bearcats!

So where's this Hank...er ah Aaron Williams been all season....was he just picking up garbage time?

According to Wildcat website report on the PLU game...it was mentioned that we have a "slight" chance at the playoffs...I'd like to hear how that would work.

Personally I think there needs to be a serious change of rules in the playoff selection process...such as "Any team 'eligible' to be an AQ who loses their last game of the season is dropped into pool C ."  The operative word here is "eligible"....Teams are only AQ after the regular season has ended and have won their last game of the season.  This would give teams who start the season slow and end strong or trip up along the way a better chance to make the playoffs...There are just too many teams who go into the playoffs after a loss at the end of the regular season who go no where...the fact that they lose their final regular season game should tell somebody that they aren't really qualified to be there and perhaps somebody else is.  If the playoffs is just about "participation" then why not just put the top 2-3 teams from each conference, in a hat and draw names.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

I guess all the cold air from where I live just really messes with my thinking...sure wish you all would send us some of that global warming.

I think the "rules" for selection are okay.  I like auto qualifiers for league champs and then the limited at large bids.  I think the problem comes when decisions on who gets into the playoffs or who hosts are made based on what it will cost the NCAA.

But that might just be based on all the cold air where I live.   :)

Now that the Lutes are done for the year I'm officially on the Willamette Bandwagon.

Go BEARCATS!

Represent the Conference well.

Sabretooth Tiger

So . . . I know that we won't know until tomorrow . . . but as things are quiet . . . any of the Wildcat nation thinking about heading south to Salem next weekend for a Bearcat v. Tiger contest?

....Wildcats were in playoff form today. Too bad chances are slim, but you never know. The only teams we lost to are solid upper seed type teams in DIII. It was nice to see that we dominated on both sides of the line today. Our boys up front were bigger, stronger and quicker. Great work in all 3 phases of the game. BIGTIME special teams hit on a kickoff by #30. He blew open the wedge and the PLU guy flew back and knocked over the ball carrier! Best hit I've seen all year. It was also great to see Masters break loose. And PPJ....was Simon wearing #45 or is my eye sight going.....I thought for sure that was him, doesn't he usually wear 28?

GHC.....along the same lines as you were saying. There were a bunch of recruits invited to this game. I even had the opportunity to hear Frosty speak to them at halftime (great guy btw). He's a very motivational guy, but he had to down play the score a little, but he did talk about how  Linfield and PLU went back and forth when he was coaching there which I thought was cool. Anyway, when I went back to my seat there was a couple PLU people behind me talking...the lady told her husband..."Gee Dear, this wasn't a very good game to bring all those recruits to was it!" (of course I kept real quite) Another lady came up to me and asked me...do you have a son playing on the PLU team? I said no, I'm just a fan.   :o  The PLU people are real nice folks.

I'm still not sure what to think about their warm-ups? It's almost like a Broadway Production with the theatrics and all, but it is entertaining!
