Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think (Concordia) --Whoops, I meant Oxy -- had a more difficult schedule than WU, did they?  They played Redlands, but otherwise, WU played some of their same opponents with better results.  Don't know, haven't seen Oxy or other SCIAC teams play.

Sorry, had to correct this!

Forecast for the game (I know it's a while out) is 49 degrees and rainy.  Alot different than the 75-85 degree weather OXY is used to playing in.  I think that's a nice advantage for WU.
Winning isn't everything, but wanting to win is...
Practice?  We talkin about practice???

Look WC11!! Another hitch hiker!! Wonder what instrument they play?

I don't know -- wet weather & footballs -- it's anybody's guess!

But, I was looking at the SCIAC & NWC standings.   Those two conferences are practically a mirror when it comes to W/L for the teams.  But, WU has PF 423 and PA 170 over 10 games, where Oxy has PF 352 and PA 166 over 9 games.  So, just by the numbers -- it looks like WU allows less ppg and scores more than Oxy.  Not sure how you'd argue that Oxy has a tougher schedule since our conferences are matched and Colorado College went 0-9 -- I'd say the win over SOU beats that.

They better not look past Oxy, because they won't live it down on here if they lose to the SCIAC as the #1 seed in bracket!

Oh, I don't know -- WU has beat Linfield two years in a row & they still seem to be among the living.

DT48 is referring to the ration of ^&%$ you will get on here if your boys go one and done at home.  Most of us on here are supporting Willamette in the playoffs but we have ulterior motives, that being conference pride and the second best conference playoff record (since the '99 expansion).  One and done probably drops us below both the MIAC and the WIAC.

So don't screw it up!! ;D

bbaddict

Yes, but how many other #1 seeds are playing #2 in the first round --  oh, that would be NONE!  Also, the "embarassing loss" that Willamette had at Oxy in 2004 was 28-14 at Oxy -- doesn't seem like an overwhelming loss for a team that was in Linfield's shadow at the time and given the Great Oxy reputation that we keep reading about here (on the NWC board)!

The teams seem pretty matched on paper.   It will definitely be a good game.

The general consensus on most of the boards is that the Left Coast got hosed again on seedings, but we all know why -- money talks! Our teams (NWC & SCIAC) just need to keep improving, so we can beat up on familiar opponents in the early rounds ---  :)

All right - another Willamette poster!

Tuxguy and Bluenote - if you're actually planning on coming down to the game, I'll send you a PM later in the week.  It'd be fun to meet you guys.  Likewise with any of the Oxy posters coming up to Salem.

I'm going into seclusion for the next two days as I desperately try to finish start a 12 page paper that's due on Tuesday.  See you all on the other side. :)

Hey BearCatPress...we'll be there. Wouldn't miss it (unless we happen to have made it and got shipped back East or whatever!) We'll meet up at the game. TuxGuy is about 6' 4" with a red afro and foo man choo stash. He'll be wearing his USC shorts and a powder blue tux. I'm the short guy about 5' 1" with a big beer belly weighing in at about 375....oh, and bald. I'll be packing my trombone in case I can get hired with the band.

Don't believe a word bluenote says about their appearance....It's the other way around and he makes TuxGuy carry his case...If there is any confusion...just look for the guys who remind you of Abott and Costello trying to act like Cheech and Chong.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

coco

We'll have to go to the game, too, in that case. I'm Blue's bodyguard, even though I weigh barely 100 pounds. As a kung fu master, so I don't have a problem protecting him from the hordes of adoring female fans. Those trombone players get all the women.

criswyly/coco + for both of you.......I think maybe if both you guys are there we'd be the fantastic 4. criswyly would be the Abomidable Snowman, coco would be the Mai Thai Monster and Tux and I would be.....well...I'm not sure there is anything that would describe that managerie! Maybe the 2 Stooges!
