Gray Fox -- I know you already know this -- a "general admission free for all" means you pay one amount to get in the gate to search & scrounge for a seat.  Unlike some places in our conference that actually have reserved seating or end zone couches.   ;D

You can get in for free if you're under 5!
I got confused.  When I attend games at Austin College there is no charge.  I was assuming the word "free" meant this was the same.  Other teams have reserved seating as you mentioned.

Gray,

I think that the NCAA rules demand payment for attendance at the playoff games.

QuoteLast time I was at WU they only had seating on the home team's sideline.

I DID offer them the CatDome.

Just a reminder....national OxyBob +karma week. How fast was that emoticon, folks?

Yeah, imagine that -- not wanting to play at the Catdome when you can play at home?!  What were they thinking?

I meant to mention this earlier in the week. Did anyone else catch D&D's comments at the very beginning of last game's broadcast about the blocked FG call vs. WOU? They stated Linfield contacted the college referee's committee (or whatever it's exactly called) and were informed that the zebras made an error. The wrong call was made. Linfield should have kept possession. Tough break considering the 'Cats would have had the ball 1st and goal from the 3.

I think the Willamette/Oxy game will be entertaining.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Did we ever properly thank-you for letting us use your stadium for a playoff game a couple of years back?

A scoreboard that works very well. NCAA approved and tested crowd control. Seating on both sides of the field. Ample Division III playoff parking.
AND [Wildcat 11 sarcasm] a great big L for Losers! in the middle of the field. [Wildcat 11 sarcasm]

Willamette has a new scoreboard.   Parking sucks, just like at Linfield.  There is seating on only one side, but I'm not sure why that's such an issue.  At the last game I attended at Linfield, I was sitting in a mix of Linfield & Willamette fans.  The Linfield fans were pretty pissed off that the "Linfield side" was all reserved seating, so they had to walk clear over to the "Visitor side."

I'm wondering if WU will bring in some of those nifty portable bleachers -- hey, maybe we could borrow some from Linfield -- I hear they're not using them this weekend.

So, wucatwu, do you know if they're bringing in some extra bleachers?  It's going to be pretty crowded, I think.

You NWC folks might not be interested in the opening parts of the piece talking about the Oxy season, but you may be interested in the matchup set forth in the later part of this piece:

From the Oxy website:

I'm not quite sure.  It would make sense seeing as how the attendance has been hovering right near capacity (about 2600).  We should be fine though.  If you compare the attendance of teams from like distances (basically out of the region) and fan bases (I can only speculate), the Concordia Moorhead game only brought in an attendance of 2000 people.

The fact that WU is 10-0, OXY is much closer than Concordia, and OXY has a decent amount of players from the NW will increase that number.  The fact that kids will now have to pay for the game will drop it a bit.  So it looks like we'll be right around capacity...which should be awesome.

I'm gonna see if I can make some thunder stix happen for this game...god those things are annoying.

Does Willamette have an internet feed to watch the game?

Doubt it.  There will be a radio feed though.

Just webcast (radio) and livestats.   The Community TV people tape the game & I know you can buy DVD's of games afterward, but I don't think they air it live.
