Foss,

Interesting, The Cats had momentum at the time which could have been the difference in the final score.
So Linfield would have been 7-2, and was ahead of St Johns in both the regional and
the National rankings at that time.
Looks like one call could have cost the Cats a playoff bid. >:(

That sucks!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Now do not tell all those boosters of other teams but if we were in a position to let the refs decide it for us again then we burnt ourselves twice.

So, wucatwu, do you know if they're bringing in some extra bleachers?  It's going to be pretty crowded, I think.

So I hear WU will have extra bleachers in the North end zone.

While I'd like to believe it, I doubt it.  Cat's record in D3 games would have been the same and even though that would have been a big win it would not have mattered in the selection criteria....
Go Cats!

Agree...can't hang it on a single call.

Sparks looked much better with the field turf and new scoreboard.  However, I think over the next few years we'll see the 'Lutes really make a drive for an on-campus stadium.

McCullough seats 2600 and (I'm guessing) about 1/3 of the seating is up the steps to the Visitor seating area. As of last Saturday, the AD wasn't anticipating a sellout but who really knows?  Paraphrasing -- "I don't think we'll have to turn anyone away"

True all the seating is  on the same side of the field (west) and behind the Bearcat bench, but at least it's all covered.

I'm not quite sure.  It would make sense seeing as how the attendance has been hovering right near capacity (about 2600).  We should be fine though.  If you compare the attendance of teams from like distances (basically out of the region) and fan bases (I can only speculate), the Concordia Moorhead game only brought in an attendance of 2000 people.

The fact that WU is 10-0, OXY is much closer than Concordia, and OXY has a decent amount of players from the NW will increase that number.  The fact that kids will now have to pay for the game will drop it a bit.  So it looks like we'll be right around capacity...which should be awesome.

I'm gonna see if I can make some thunder stix happen for this game...god those things are annoying.

And about 300-400 of those were Concordia faithful. We travel pretty well.

I thought Concordia Moohead had quite a few fans there.   I'm guessing that some of the students are from the Northwest?  I remember them being loud & proud! :)

No it didn't. St. John's got an automatic bid, not an at-large bid. To "guarantee" selection you'd have to have been ahead of UW-Whitewater, the highest-ranking West at-large team.

I've noticed a downward karma trend for me and most of the Bearcat posters.  That's OK -- I'll take negative karma & a playoff spot over tons of great karma and b.s. about what coulda, shoulda, woulda . . .  Enjoy yourselves!!  Our team has some seniors, but there are plenty of others, including freshmen, that contribute to the success.  And, the coach isn't graduating!!

Go Bearcats!

Actually, no. They have 1 player from SoCal, 2 from MT, quite a few from NoDak, and most from MN. Just a proud group of fans and parents that travel well. Especially since it's ~1400 miles from Moorhead to Salem.

That's pretty impressive.

That's who was on line when I logged in to opine I do not know of any LINFIELD fan on here who would hit you more than once for a good-natured newbie knock. Ain't me, babe. Look south.
