QuoteThe fact that WU is 10-0, OXY is much closer than Concordia, and OXY has a decent amount of players from the NW will increase that number.  The fact that kids will now have to pay for the game will drop it a bit.  So it looks like we'll be right around capacity...which should be awesome.

What Whitworth has done for all of its post-season athletics over the last several years (in which the game was hosted at Whitworth) is buy up 100 or so tickets and let that many students in for free.  Is Willamette going to do something like that as well?  I remember both football games being packed, well over 100 students so i don't think money was a huge issue with the students...now if this was soccer  :D

Salem should be rockin Saturday...I'm tempted to make the drive down.  As much as I hate that stupid offense (I think good teams, see UWW, can stop gimmicky offenses), this years version of it is run VERY well and it is fun to watch...especially when you got a bunch of SCIAC players running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to defend it.

That's who was on line when I logged in to opine I do not know of any LINFIELD fan on here who would hit you more than once for a good-natured newbie knock. Ain't me, babe. Look south.

You can say that but his only three smites in the past 24 hours all came from Wildcatland.

Now do not tell all those boosters of other teams but if we were in a position to let the refs decide it for us again then we burnt ourselves twice.

....well it looks stupid if you can defend it or if they aren't that good. But this year they look like they did in like ....what ? 1997 or 8. Can't remember when Pinkerton was the qb and they went to the final.

Probably a playoff thing??  During the regular season students got in for free with their ID. Today they were pre-selling tickets for $4 with ID.

Actually, I'm kind of hoping that I can catch a ride with OB on his privately chartered helicopter that will simply drop OB and his multitude of minions directly onto the field.
I thought he used a parachute.

That was DB not OB.

OxyBob
DB has been located.  He is a poster on the Centennial Conference board. ;)

....actually I'm getting a little bored not being in the playoffs for the last 3 years.....oh, well. OK....how about this.....I won the pick'em this year for NWC.....I'm going to predict that Linfield will be in the playoffs next year..... ;)  What do you guys think!

Yeah -- I think if Linfield had beat Hardin Simmons we'd be having different discussions.  But, what do I know?  I thought Linfield would beat WOU!

It would be great if next year we could have at least 2 teams from the NWC & the SCIAC in the playoffs.  At least it would be interesting in the real West.

Two from each, that is.

NCAA rules require that they charge for tickets.  I think what they do at Whitworth is a good idea.  Wasn't that an alum who put up the money for that?

May have been but with as many playoff games as Whitworth has hosted as of late (football, volleyball, basketball, soccer) I'm pretty sure that the student gov. has bought most of them for the students.

I'm new on the board but am a long-time watcher.  I'm a Bearcat fan but don't expect to sound like an expert.  Will chime in when there's something to say but plan to listen and learn.  It has been said (to paraphrase) it's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

At any rate, it was asked if the WU/Oxy game will be broadcast.  The Willamette website is listing a web broadcast, audio only, at the following link.  http://www.willamette.edu/athletics/bsn/webcast/

NCAA would love that......Then they wouldn't have to fly anyone anywhere, first round;)

Welcome FightBearcats, and yes  + karma for you........

Now bbaddict,
this has been an unsaid  rule around here for quite some time now, and I can say this because I fell into the trap myself.
Do not, I repeat, do not whine about your Karma rating. If you do it will go down for sure.

If it did go down, and we all know that it did, as our fearless leader Pat told everyone it was the Kinder and gentler Wildcat Nation, it was because you posted something that someone didn't agree with. That's why we have + and - karma.

Good Luck Bearcats

GO WILDCATS,
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!
