Bluenote,

Since you have been crowned the official 2008  PICKEM Champ for the NWC I'm certain you are right on the money to assure everyone that the Cats will be the NWC team in the playoffs in 2009.  Thanks for the tip!

river...I got you to an even -10.   :P

I hope you are healthy and that illness was not the reason you disappeared this whole season. You, of all the WU crew, have earned the right to come on the NWC board and flap your wings. You did a heck of a lot of swimming upstream a couple of years ago

FightBearcats

Wow!  Karma already.  Thanks.

Salem should be rockin Saturday...I'm tempted to make the drive down.  As much as I hate that stupid offense (I think good teams, see UWW, can stop gimmicky offenses), this years version of it is run VERY well and it is fun to watch...especially when you got a bunch of SCIAC players running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to defend it.

....well it looks stupid if you can defend it or if they aren't that good. But this year they look like they did in like ....what ? 1997 or 8. Can't remember when Pinkerton was the qb and they went to the final.

Pinkerton was the QB in '97 when WU went to the NAIA final, lost to Findley (sp?) 14-7, I believe.

Pinkerton broke his leg in the National Semifinals.  The backup was not nearly as good as Pinkerton and that injury was probably the main reason why WU didn't win the title that year.

Admittedly biased, but the fact that the Bearcats were in it 14-7, despite playing w/out their starter/stud qb, was in itself pretty impressive.

Maybe we shouldn't be talking about injured qb's in the play-offs, makes me kinda nervous.

Question for you Linfield backers:  Is Birkhofer going to make a run at pro-ball? From what I've seen/read, he's got the leg-strength for it.  Maybe a shot at the AFL?

Duff, it's bad enough that TDT has a crush on me...I don't need another Johnnie stalker.  Please do me a favor and fall into one of your fishing ice holes this winter.  ;)

PLEASE! Our season is done and we are nothing but all about Willamette University and their carrying on the precedent set by PLU and carried on by LINFIELD.

I'm not worried - we already got our QB injury for the year out of the way. ???  In any event, Leslie doesn't run like Pinkerton, and I'm sure that Pinkerton (now the QBs coach) is going to make sure Leslie doesn't take any risks.

Quit leading TDT on and I am sure he will go away. ;D

Knock on wood....
Our starter went out in game 1 ...then #2 went out in game 2? Not sure he was ever 100% after that but he played well. I guess we had #3 and 4 ready too, #3 got some good playing  time.....at least we got a lot of people playing. Should be fun to see what happens next year when we have 2-3 ready to go from the start.....Hope we have some good receivers ready to catch some Boehme Bullets.

Not really, now we have a quarterback controversy that can only be settled by the staff and the selfless behavior of the few involved. More this winter, eh?
