FIGHT BEARCATS, FIGHT!

A VICT'RY FOR WU!

One down, Four to go!

Great game, Oxy - I was worried for the first 12 minutes.

Congrats to the Bearcats.  Sorry I missed the game but am glad they'll be one next week to enjoy.  I suspect, next week's game will be very tough...perhaps the best team Willamette has played all year, besides Linfield  :D  <----please note big smiley face used to imply I'm either kidding or at least smiling over the fact that I'm a big homer! :) <--that one is to reinforce the point.

It was great to see a few Linfield fans at the game today. Hope you all (and more) come again next week for the UW-W game to cheer on the NWC, we can use all the support we can get!

we are a Kinder, Gentler WILDCAT Nation, not a more apologetic one. There was truth in that statement. Just because we let them do to us what they did to the SCIAC undefeated Champion.....

Besides, we probably have to root for them because now a) they will be an underdog to the defending National Champion  b) the hawks that stole your dream are, once again, coming near the den

Attendance: 1750.  I guess they didn't need those extra bleachers after all.   ::)

Congrats on the playoff win.  Those are hard earned and to be savored.

I don't know that the Bearcats will be underdogs. Today, UWW is #4, WU is #6. If there's much of a point spread at all, it'll probably be less than a touchdown, especially with the game being in Salem. If I were making book on this game, I'd probably have the Bearcats at -2.5 to open and see where the money falls.

Go Bearcats!

Looked like more than 1750 to me, but I suppose there could have been 900 empty seats spread around the stadium (especially on the Oxy end).

Wish I'd known about those empty seats -- it was so crowded where I sat that people were standing.

Nice to have a win.  Weird last 2 minutes!

I think in the eyes of the D3 world (e.g. most of the posters not from the NWC and now SCIAC) will be putting the BearCats in the underdog roll.  I'm not too sure myself but I'll say one thing....Willamette will be facing another very good rushing Defense and an offense that can run and pass the ball effectively.  Most of all, though it's a team with lots of playoff experience, defending national champs, etc.  Willamette's strength all year has been not making mistakes and that was certainly true today (no turnovers---very good).  If they play like that next weekend then they have a very good shot at winning BUT any mistakes and they may see the season end.  I wish them the best of luck!  Avenge the NWC!!!!

Definitely a weird final 2 minutes - I'm gonna have to watch the CCTV broadcast tomorrow (or during the week) to see it again.

Oxy reminded me of a decent UPS or Whitworth team. Whitewater will be a stiffer challenge.....Tux and I left at about 2 minutes with the score 48-19...what the heck happened?

Hey....I call it like I see it..... ;)  Tux and I had a good visit with Foss and BearCatPress. Nice to see a lot of other Linfield people at the game also.

One thing that can not be overlooked is home field advantage next week for Willamette,  they don't have to come play in the cold midwest.  That is a big advantage.  Not that UWW can't play out there but the Bearcats don't have to play in a freezer.
