I don't know anything about UW-WW's team this year, but don't get TOO carried away with Willamette's first round victory.  WU basically played a flawless game last weekend and Oxy did not, but IMHO it was hardly a TKO at halftime.  Certainly congratulations and kudos are due for a nice win by the Bearcats, but I don't think anyone who saw the game would honestly say that it wasn't competitive - even with the "cushion" of WU's second quarter scoring.  The first and third quarters were tightly fought and the 4th quarter was a shootout.  I know, only the eventual score matters, but I thought your humble opinion needed a response.  ;)

Good luck to the Bearcats going forward.  If Oxy had to lose, I'd rather it be to another West coast team (even though the NCAA is still screwed up with those geographical first round pairings - which is a dead horse I have no intention of reviving).

It could be argued that Willamette has played nearly flawless football all season.  I don't see that changing this Saturday.

Is it really true that the putative guest has the inside scoop on the Bearcats because of his possible CIA connection?   :o

Although in this week's podcast I said I was probably going to the Monmouth/Wartburg game, I finally found an itinerary and a price that worked for me to come out west. So I'll be in Salem this weekend.

Awesome! I've ordered up another beautiful Autumn day for the game this Saturday.

Enjoy the visit!

f flawless means no turnovers, that would be a great accomplishment against this UWW defense. But they better hang on to the ball tight. They are going to get hit and they are going to get hit hard. It's going to be like nothing they've ever experienced. If you don't believe me, ask one of their players after the game....once he regains consciousness.  ;D

I know, I am a formidable opponent.  The injury reference is what I was referring to.  It's just bad karma, which I am obviously an expert at.  ;D

Sorry about the stupid remark, I should have said.........highly unsportsmanlike. ;)

Ya, I agree with the karma theory.  I heard on the news that Ann Coulter fell down, broke her jaw and had to have it wired shut!  Now that is karma!  ;D

I forgive you regarding the stupid remark dog. I was messing around and would never want anyone to get hurt. I don't really expect any concussions. I just expect a lot of physical football!

Interesting you should bring up your "stupid" remark. After my last post, I was going to respond with:

"Stupid? I'm not stupid. Your the one that's stupid, stupid!!" (David Putty, after Elaine told him that "high fiving" is stupid.)

Seinfeld had some of the best supplementary characters ever!

Hey! I LOVE Ann Coulter!!

I remember that show, I was/am a big JS fan.

The "I" word is one we never use in our house while our son is playing.  Been there, done that once and it isn't fun seeing your kid lying still on the ground.

I hope it is a hard hitting game and everyone walks away with just bumps and bruises.  good luck to both teams, just a wee bit more to WU. ;)

Here here on the injury sentiment. No one wants any of the kids to get hurt. But, I have to tell it like it is snoop. First, you don't have to worry about it being a hard hitting game. UWW knows no other way to play. Second, "just a wee bit more" luck won't do WU much good. They'll need a ton of it to hang with UWW.
