Very good job #11.  Didn't you pick Whitewater by 3?

One more thing.  The year before WU went to the NAIA national championship game, they were in the playoffs but lost in an earlier game.  Those players who are coming back now have the experience of playing at a much higher level than in the NWC.  In conference you can lose a game and still have a chance to recover and even win the league championship.  In the playoffs if you lose, you're out.  No second chances.  So you have to bring your entire game for the entire game.

Congratulations to the Warhawks.  They won the game.  I hope they realize they were in a battle up to the end. I'll be pulling for them to win it all.

Interestingly, Whitewater is extremely young with only 8 seniors, not all of them are even in the 2 deep...they will be a major roadblock for any potential west region team next season...I would imagine they are very happy to have survived today and live to play another day...

Great game by Willamette.  Once they made adjustments at the half, they were pretty unstoppable.

Good fans, too.  Met Tuxguy and Bluenote from Linfield, it was great to talk D3 football with them.  They were going to catch the big Oregon / Oregon State game, so i don't expect to see a post from them for a bit.

58 degrees was nice, too.  Will be a bit colder at Whitewater next week.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

What an exciting game...too exciting for us Warhawk fans...both teams played with the "heart of a champion"...I think both defenses were worn out at the end....and that doesn't happen often for the Warhawk defense!

Thanks for the props everybody! Thanks to PC for asking me to sit in.  It was a real treat and a good game to boot.  Whitewater was very impressive (as usual) and can't say enough about the play of Shumpert and Rindahl...they were excellent for the 'Hawks.

Willamette had a great run this year but they are losing some very key seniors this season but I will say they're going to be tough again next season but so is Whitworth and Linfield.  Should be a very competitive NWC in 2009.

I do not know if I wish UWW well...yet. Wartburg the Underdog has a good sound to it.

At least now that the NWC has faded I can go back to my Tina Turner worship.

Congrats on a fine season to the 'cats from Salem. When is the last time a NWC school went 10 zip during regular season play?

Congratulations to the WU team who showed tons of heart and tons of firepower. I know the team is terribly disappointed tonight, but as time passes, they will cherish the memories they created this season. Great football, great experiences, great memories, and lifelong friendships. I wish the Bearcats and their fans well.

Speaking of the fans, you were good sports in taking my smack all week. You did a good job in defending your team and your team did a good job in vindicating your viewpoints, even in defeat. You earned respect today on a national stage. Best of luck to coach Speckman and the Bearcats as they build on that success!

What some of you UWW fans don't seem to get is the following:

You're playing the NWC Champ...not a CoChamp...not a good pool B or C team....We here at the NWC can see that Willamette is a special team this year....even if some of us don't want to admit that....Oh wait...it's the mighty WIAC Co-Chump...I mean Co-Champ were playing this weekend....the could of, should of team...who could of...oh wait it's the mighty WIAC.... ;D  Some of you WarHawk fans don't seem to take it serious to realize that the NWC is the only conference to have two legitimate National Champs since 1999 during the MUC reign of terror.  When has the "mighty" WIAC accomplished that...when will they accomplish that?  The NWC could be on the verge of making it three National Champs since 99....Many of us here are excited about that.

Now if Willamette loses Saturday...I'll forget this comment was ever posted....In fact I'll delete it. ;D

Didn't delete it fast enough!!!

For those who say the Bearcats will be down next year, don't count on it.  As good as Grant Leslie was (or Leslie Grant if you were listening to d3 ;))

I am reviewing my archive and we have it right. We call people by their last names, not their first names. It's not like we're personally acquainted with them. :)

11 did a fantastic job, for those unable to listen today.
