Let's hope the Birds are as over confident as you are....

I am just telling you what is driving the Amherst players in a season that can still be one to remember.

This weeks Vegas lines:

Tufts -14  Colby

Trinity -10  Amherst

Bates -3  Bowdoin

Middlebury -19  Hamilton

Wesleyan  -17  Williams

I'll take Colby, Amherst, Bates, Middlebury and Williams

gridiron

Lumbercat--I like your lines.  However, I'm taking the favorites to cover in each instance.

Tufts, Trinity, Bates, Middlebury and Wesleyan

Anyone hearing the rumors that the NESCAC champs may file to be part of that inaugural New England Bowl?

I'd never heard of that before.  Sounds pretty cool: http://www.d3football.com/notables/2016/08/new-england-conferences-team-up-for-bowl-series

Sadly, I can't imagine the NESCAC Presidents allowing our boys to compete.

That was my impression as well, but some say they are kicking the idea around...

Amherst +10 over Trinity
Bates -3 over Bowdoin
Hamilton +19 over Middlebury
Williams +17 over Wesleyan
Tufts Colby TBD

Amherst - Trinity line too low.   Trinity will be looking to avenge a few years of coming in second and Jeffs have little to play for.

There isn't a snow balls chance in hell of NESCAC participating in this. Nice try though.

Although we are working on our preview for this week, we think your lines are very low. We'll take the favorite in every single game. The only game that has any shot of being close this week (unfortunately) is the C-B-B game.

gridiron

nescacman's comments about the line being too low echoes my earlier post. Expect some big wins/losses for all games but Bates/Bowdoin.

We agree with you Grid, except for the fact that we do not like Lumbercat's lines at all. Well that's not entirely true. If these were the real lines and we were betting real money we would love them. Without giving too much away, Wes, Tufts and Middlebury are playing 3 really bad teams (no matter who is at QB) and Hartford State (in the Coop) will outclass the FKA LJ's (who, we are sorry to say, are very mediocre this year...with no running game and an average O-line). Tufts, Wes and HS are the class of the league this year. Middlebury is next and Amherst rounds out the top 5 as a distant 5th but far ahead of the "have nots".

I'd bet my private parts that none of the NESCAC powers-that-be have any interest in the New England Bowl.

Frank, we finally agree on something!!! Only took 4 years...

Prediction on the Wes/Eph score this week? How about this week's HCOF game...Shorter v. Mississippi College?

While I will stay away from the wager itself, I could not agree more.   This would be one step toward playoffs and NCAA type activity, which the NESCAC wants nothing to do with in this sport.  None.

Come on NESCACMAN, I know we have fallen but we only lost by 1 point to Middlebury with our 3rd string QB (who played like a starter that day).
To be a distant 5th......they gotta beat us by more than 1pt on their home turf.
