Trin9-0

Nice 2016 highlight film produced by Trinity here: https://vimeo.com/212933232

Also, I hadn't realized just how loaded the Bantam offense is going to be next season but according to the @TrinFootball twitter account 10 starters return for the Bantams in 2017 (6 of which were either first or second team all-NESCAC). All five O-linemen return, two receivers, the tight end and the entire backfield which includes two clear front-runners for offensive POY in Max Chipouras and Sonny Puzzo.

Considering Trinity had the 5th highest scoring offense in league history last year this unit should be downright scary this season.

They do graduate 4 all-NESCAC players on defense including the defensive POY, Spencer Donahue but the Bants always seem to reload and will likely be among the top defensive squads in the league despite these losses.

Trin8-0...a very intimidating post!  Guess the Bantams are planing to repeat.
Oh well, Amherst will try to improve on their last season game....two big mistakes in the last quarter...this coming season.  Returning QB starter returns and expected much improved offensive line play.  Expect the defensive side will be rebuilt where needed.  Big questions at WRs and RBs, though Hickey returns along with a slew of young RBs arrive.
Any word you hear wrt a nine game season?

I have heard this -- there's apparently a vote later this spring.

perhaps being decided at the next meeting of the NESCAC presidents? That meeting is coming up very soon (Wednesday, April 26 in Boston).

Amherst Mammoths?  Smh.  That Trinity game was a good one.  We lost.  Trinity wanted it more.  Didn't realize they had so many underclassmen.  Amherst will be hungrier this year.  They better because the league is much stronger now that Tufts is back and Middlebury still has their D1 talent at QB.

CBB recruiting evaluations taking shape-

Bowdoin A  (Wells is a young guy with a ton of energy and he has that Trinity approach....so watch out- he's not going to get outworked)
Bates B+ (Bates recruiting well with short staff and resources)
Colby incomplete- the registered recruits just don't add up. Not sure if this is indirect confirmation of the rumored coaching change or they just aren't reporting their recruits. Maybe its lame duck leadership.....rumored friction between coaches,  The assumption is that Michaeles is staying but recent resignation of AD propels the Football program into continued uncertainty.

Lumbercat,  what are you basing the grades on?    Haven't seen too much reported out of Bowdoin on the next class...  where you looking?

lumbercat

the grades are based on information from a number of sources. I think Wells is very pleased with his recruiting results at Bowdoin. Bates is always tight lipped but their results are quite good. A lot of questions about Colby-they have become an enigma.

After 5/1 Civetti, Wells and Devanney will start running their twitter or facebook postings announcing their recruiting victories. "Meet John Doe from Bergen Catholic in NJ......Announcing Bill Jones from Mater Dei in Califonia.......Wesleyan will jump on this also.

I think its a good practice to muster alumni support for their programs but most NESCAC programs don't get involved with that.

Your concise assessment of Colby is very generous. The sad reality is that the program is a disaster, and has failed the kids that bought into the false promises of desired excellence. The recruiting coordinator left abruptly without any mention or explanation to this day. He's replaced by an existing coach with little experience. No official mention of recruits. No replacement for the experienced coach lost. The AD leaves abruptly with rumors swirling, and no replacement in place. Reports of numerous upperclassman not returning to the team. And an underachieving inept head coach returning. No chance of wining more than 3-4 games in sight. Yes, your assessment is very generous.

Relax! Colby is a great college - win, lose or draw in football.

You relax! Colby being a great college is not the point. These young men came to Colby to get a great education AND have a positive football experience. And they are being short changed on the latter. How many people associated with Williams football are comforted by the acedimic greatness of the college? Is the horrible state of their football acceptable? NO. And I bet the Amherst football players find little comfort in attending an elite academic school when contemplating football. Sure, academics are most important, but football means something too. So save your insightful commentary for someone else.

So sue or transfer or both.
This is not about suing, or transferring. Lumbercat made a good point, and I contributed my point of view. If you don't like it, don't read it. And be my guest giving me a negative mark. Like Tfat matters to anyone with half a life.

That's the last year Colby had a winning football season? How do you think that would play at Willusms, Amherst or Middlebury? Three great academic schools.

Whining is whining, whether at Williams, Amherst, Middlebury or elsewhere.
