Whining is whining, whether at Williams, Amherst, Middlebury or elsewhere.
And nonsense is nonsense. Wherever located. And you speak nonsense. Wanting quality on the football field as well as the classroom is not whining. It's a reasonable expectation.

What seems odd to me is that the Colby Athletics website still lists Tim Wheaton as the AD along with his complete bio.  Is he finishing out the year?

I would hate to be a coach.  You're gone if you don't win 80% of the games. Aren't we getting a little overboard with our expectations?  Isn't Colby investing some $200 million on totally new athletic facilities? The AD is leaving to be closer to family in another state. Nothing devious here. And another great AD will be hired. The College is doing great,  in athletics as well as academics.

My son played at Tufts and heard from a buddy who played at Colby that said they are currently trying to renovate many of their already existing facilities. I don't know to what degree things will be changed and how much they will invest into their different sports but there is expected to be some upgrades coming in the near future.

The Colby press release said he left, not that he would be leaving. I'm told he's gone. And the reason was not as advertised. Common sense tells you that the AD does not leave abruptly mid-year to be with family. Ut also took them forever tocremovecthe photo and bio of the recruiting coach who also left abruptly. This just doesn't pass the smell test.

80%? You can't be talking about Colby. The coach wins 50% in a great year (usually 1 to 3)  and he's still got a job. I agree with you regarding academics, it's great. But the Athletics stink.

All the money and facilities in the world won't do it. Tufts started winning because they have a coach who gets it. Wesleyan did the same thing. Coaching matters.

Very accurate! Coaching makes a tremendous difference in most all sports and especially in football. All I heard was that Colby was going to be spending more money in the near future on athletics. Very excited to see if Michaeles will be able to improve himself after a less than inspiring start now that he has had a few years of experience under his belt and has had time to implement his style. From what I've seen though, and I hope I'm wrong, it looks like we have a better chance of seeing Trump delete his twitter rather than Colby becoming relevant again.

There was an article in the April 6 issue of The Colby Echo about the AD resigning.
The AD will be leaving 6/30.Please read this article. He explains in depth the family issues. Nothing smells. There is no North Korean conspiracy.  Maybe I see things half-full, and you see things half-empty. You want the team to win all its games. I would like that too.
But it just isn't feasible. There are 9 other teams who want the same thing. Should 7 or 8 coaches be canned every year because their team doesn't win at least 6 of the 8 games? I sure hope not. There will be a new topnotch AD. Life will go on.

Thanks for the AD clarification.

@ColbyFootball Are you aware of any recruits that Colby is bringing in that could have an impact right away for the mules?

Not a word. That's part of the frustration. Abd what's worse, I'm told several upperclassman aren't returning. Including their most productive WR. Frustrating to hear nothing.

Sad. Hate to see a program struggle that has the potential to do well in a great conference. On the flip side, that will help out my tufts who I heard are bringing in a solid recruiting class that can hopefully propel them to the top!
