Are you serious about those predictions...other than Trinity what are you talking about. Bowdoin lost their whole offense.....7-1 come on, Colby has a number of key offensive players and the majority of a very good defense coming back. Williams was on fire the last 6 game average a ton of points...Amherst always good..You must be a Polar Bear grad to make the arrogant assumption that Bowdoin would even sniff the CBB since they haven't beaten colby in 7 years...and 9 point vs the Mules in 3 years......

u know i promised my kid to stay out of the fray, but that dirty bird post blows my mind. U watch bant and former bant being really nice, appropriate guys walking with the swagger that trinity has earned. Then some guy puts a classless post that belittles other peoples posts and takes all the good away. remember trinity-miami would be sort of a lousy game. Remember that trinity stars would be second rate at best at oklahoma , their always someone better, bigger, richer smarter. When u earn prestige, gotta show class. Im sure priore would read that post and shake his head if dirty bird actually played for him. Whats a junior team anyway, why is colby getting disrespect. And last time I looked wesleyan got 2 nfl coaches a legend and a turnaround guy. The only good thing is that any player on the bashed teams that read that inane dribble will hopefully get motivated and succeed. Insults are really pitiful for high IQ nescac guys. Bant, former bant show ur class and paste this fool.

With one or two exceptions about every five years NESCAC stars would be relegated to holding dummies at the likes of Oklahoma.

How about this.  Why doenst Trinity leave the nescac, join the LL, and compete for a national championship?  Union did it and their academic reputation hasnt suffered at all.

I'm not sure I'd use the same words that he does, but I also don't know enough about the other teams in the league to know whether or not the statements are true (getting past the words he uses).  Just ask him to explain -- he is a consistent poster who talks about the game -- and doesn't look for excuses.  Also, he gives an analysis each week -- and its pretty fair -- which is useful because I think he follows the whole league a little more closely than I do.  I think he is just being frank and maybe in doing so is creating some "locker room material".  Again, while I might choose different words, talking about how good teams are is different than -- and in my opinion less insulting than -- mocking one's intelligence or the quality of their education (particularly in light of the fact that dirtybirds can be proven wrong by the players ON THE FIELD, whereas the other type of statements are really excuses for AFTER the games are played).

We shall see, good luck to all.  Hope to see another team like Trinity that was usually average come out and have sustained success.  Makes things more interesting.  But beware, if it isn't the "old boss", the success won't be considered legitimate!  The Maine teams have had a couple of "spike" years, going 7-1 or 6-2. so I could see one of them filling that bill.  I know the year before I got to Trinity, they were like 3-5 or maybe even 2-6.  Just remember, keep plugging away if there are bumps in the road.

fair enough, getting sensitive graduation was 2 days ago. the bar is then set.

First let me assure you, having once roomed with dirtybird, that he is in fact an idiot. Also, I'm sure that the majority of his post was meant to get a laugh (he's just not very funny).

23 players from 9 states, and the coaches I've talked to seem very excited about the kids they brought in.

As we enter the summer months full of sun and fun, with 4 months b4 the start of the season and the streak of Trinity. I would love to hear from those with insight how you would rank the teams in a pre season poll?

                                1) Trinity  most think it will go to 38 in a row
                                2)  Colby  building a solid program
                                3)  A/W   always a toss up
                                4) Everyone else

i'd have to agree. trinity is number 1 until proven otherwise

Can never have too many linebackers I guess.  Who's the LB from CA?

Malden:  It's still a little early for predictions, but I'm assuming it will likely be the status quo in the NESCAC again this year. The same four teams at the top with a slight advantage to Trinity. Colby is probably the second best team, but will have a tough time beating the Bants in Hartford. Williams has the best shot to knock off Trin. Amherst's season will be judged on how they play in their final two games (against Trinity and Williams)

Middlebury, Tufts, and newcomer to the middle of the pack teams Bowdoin, will finish somewhere between 5th and 7th. And the bottom feeders, Bates, Wesleyan and Hamilton
will all be fighting for that ellusive 2 win season.

Trinity 8-0
Colby 7-1
Williams 7-1
Amherst 5-3
Middlebury 4-4
Bowdoin 4-4
Tufts 3-5
Bates 2-6
Hamilton 1-7
Wesleyan 1-7

tmerton: I too was a little suprised at how many linebackers they brought in, especially with the talent they already have at that position. Don't know any specifics about the kid from Cali, however one of the backers from Mass is supposed to be a monster. He also has my new favorite name in the NESCAC: Chuks Ekwelum

love to know who the fl dl was sure my son and him somehow know each other, as for the bottom feeders gotta be like avis and try harder. I know one kid thats working his butt off to report looking not to much like a bottom feeder. Been on the top and the bottom never worth gloating too much as the fall sometimes hurts. (can only hope)
