PolarCat,

We agree to disagree.  If the kid made the team as a walk on....he must be good enough.  Whether 1 game or 32.....he's wearing the uniform.

On another note, no sound for Colby / Amherst game.  This is definitely before TV football.  3-0 after 1 quarter.

The Tufts Trinity game is a good one so far.  The camera shows the visiting crowd and gotta love it.  Their fans travel very well.

The game is a defensive struggle.  Bantams starting WR injured on a fly route.  Field may be wet but after first quarter 0-0.

Tufts can beat this team.

Unreal sequence.  Bants return int 100 yds for td. Pat blocked and returned for safety by the Jumbos.  13-9 with 7 minutes in 3rd Q.

Well, well, well ... the NESCAC world just got turned upside down.  Williams beats Middlebury!

nescac1

Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Bobby Maimaron, five games in and already a legend.

Oh, and Nescacman ... do you like apples????

westcoastDad

what a final 2 minute drive by the Ephs!  and with 6.2 seconds and ball on 15......... TD  Williams to defeat the Panthers.

great game.  Williams is back

lumbercat

Maimoron was absolutely spectacular- he managed the winning drive like Tom Brady- so poised and in total control.
Can't remember a performance like that especially from a FY.

Lumbercat,

He really did execute beautifully.  But, that was a clear intentional grounding with about 40 secs to play at mi5dfield don't you think?  Middlebury should have gotten either a sack or the call.  Instead the refs rules incomplete?  smh.  There was nobody around that pass.

He took full advantage of the missed call though.

MiddPride if you watched that last series...........give me your take on that "sack" that never was

Or a fumble!!!  Kudos to the kid for getting away with it and he played spectacular football.

Agree - was thinking the same thing on the grounding.

Maimaron was simply amazing all game making plays with his brain, legs, and arm.  Especially considering one of his top two receivers didn't play and the Ephs workhorse tailback was, presumably, injured after two carries.  I didn't see the play -- did anyone see what happened to Harris?  He's having a massive senior year and I'd hate to see end early.  WR Frank Stola, after a very quiet first three quarters, was also huge in the last few drives including of course the game winner.

I was really surprised Midd was so conservative down the stretch.  Lebowitz, who is amazing, threw the ball with pinpoint accuracy today and in the second half could not be stopped.  I would have let him throw some quick, safe five yard passes in those last two drives rather than try to salt the game away on the ground.  Two tremendous QBs on the field today.  Kudos to the Eph D which struggled a bit for the first time all year, but made some big plays down by the goal line.  A blocked short FG was also huge for Williams.

lumbercat

You just don't see that kind of drive management, composure and throwing accuracy from a D3 freshman. He grew up watching Brady I guess.

A number of comments on a strange but very exciting day of football.  Comments sort of random as I picked and poked around to watch games.
Saw the Bowdoin game and NSN had REPLAY!.  Went to the Amherst game looking for WCD on the stands.  Bad video, no announcer for the first half and the time clock was unreadable for the online show.  Amherst's 1st team All-Nescac RG did not play...right foot in a boot.
Amherst scored in all sorts of ways.  A TD on a pick...the last one.  Amherst took a knee to run out the clock....did not try the extra pt.   A TD off a punt return, two long Pass TDS.  Forgot a TD somewhere.
Foy came in and threw for a  TD, But also threw an int.
A 4th string QB put in and young TBs. Where is Morales?
Bates led Wes at the half 23-21.
Hamilton gave up a TD only to score the next 21 points, I believe.
Trinity- Tufts game was low scoring in first half and then it was back and forth.
Midd missed two short FG's  and it came back to bite the Panthers in the last 3-4 seconds...or less!
Penalties may have hurt the Panthers as Midd had a pick that was negated on a pass interference call that was sort of strange to me.  Lots of plays seemed strange to me at times.
The last 4 games of the season will be very, very interesting. Amherst plays Wes and Trin at Home and Will away!  A piece of the TITLE...or as WCD states....a Share...is in the LJ's grasp!

westcoastDad

Way too nimble to be compared to Brady.  Aaron Rodgers......yes

Amh63 you missed the blocked punt for a TD

Williams' win today an instant classic by the "Grit Guys"!

Coach Raymond and his band of players are becoming known for an "old school" culture.

Outstanding coaching staff with players of character .... lots of applicants will want to be a part of this enterprise ....

Keep up the great work, guys!
