The Foy TD pass with under 1 minute (?) to play in first half should go down as THE PLAY OF THE NESCAC YEAR!  It was 3rd down maybe.  Foy rolled right and barely eluded a fast Trinity DLineman and threw an amazingly accurate 30 yard pass to a somewhat well covered WR down the sideline.  The Mammoth WR leaped and snagged the into the wind pass....then raced the last 20 yards into the end zone to give the Lord Mammoths the Momentum and 14-7 as the crowd went crazy.

Mammoths got the ball to begin the 2nd half and quickly made it 21-7 with a long dominating drive.

Trinity was never again in this game.

Colby us now 0-8. 89 total points on the season. Two facts. I leave the analysis to others.

Maybe Colby needs better players?

Karma Hartford State Karma   The football gods of righteousness were with the Lord-mammoths today.  The Staters can rest on their drubbing of bad teams though if any consolation.

I am not sure if karma had anything to do with it.
The LJ"s dominated in all aspects of the game today.
Congratulations to Amherst. They were by far the better team!

I was wrong, didn't think the purple would win today.  Jeff got out coached and out prepared today by EJ Mills. Congratulations to a classy Amherst outfit. Mills is a magician- in a class with Ostendarp, Farley and Miller.

Run it up Jeff.

Watched Williams-Wesleyan today. Mark Raymond has made great strides in two years, but the distance back to the top was evident today. Wesleyan has playmakers and depth.

Bravo to the Lord Jeff Mammoths. Solid program, big-game performers. Take away the early pick sixes vs. Midd and they're looking at the first 9-0 season in NESCAC history.

I expect that Williams will play with heart and passion next week, but an upset would be a huge shock.

Congrats to Coach Mills and his Mammoths.
Very impressive win.

Great points —Agree with all your points but Williams beat Midd on the road and Midd had Leibowitz in lineup along with many, if not more, playmakers than Wes.

I think the Williams loss today speaks volumes to Frank U's comment weeks ago when he tempered the Williams euphoria with a very prescient post where he said that while they are on a strong upward path but don't rule rule out a backward step along the way. That's what happened today.

Would like to get the film from today to see what Wes threw at Maimaron.

Murray.....and Maimaron will go to school on today as they continue to get better. They are doing one hell of job out there regardless of today's setback.

lumbercat... Fair point on Williams-Middlebury. Without knowing details from inside the Williams program, I would suspect that youth and numbers might have caught up to the Ephmen a little bit. I think Eph experts Frank U and nescac1 both alluded to these issues early on. Maimaron is very talented, mature and resourceful. He looked a little gun-shy  today, like a freshman who has spent a lot of time running for his life in recent weeks.

Yes- the whole thing may have caught up with Maiamorin but Wes had to do something different today. Gotta see the tape.

Okay, I will make the homer post: Congratulations to my Bates Bobcats for their 4th consecutive CBB Championship, the first class in Bates history to win the outright CBB all 4 years.  And on a gorgeous Senior Day in Lewiston, too.  The talent gap between the Little Dawgs and the Top Dawgs is palpable (and the talent gap between the CBB coaching and the Little Three coaching may be even wider), but it is FUN football to watch.

Hats off to a gritty Polar Bear team that kept grinding and had a legitimate shot at coming back for the W with under 2 minutes remaining.  Maimaron gets all the headlines, but Bowdoin's Grif Stallcup and Bates' Brendan Costa are both pretty special.  A great QB Class of 2021 for the CAC.

Sadly for the Mule fans, I think Bowdoin gets the W next week.  The White has more playmakers on both sides of the ball.

Maybe you need to watch all of the games as I have. And observed the game prep etc. The players should have won a few games this year. A solid well coached HS team could have better offensive production than Michseles' offense. But you keep blaming the players.

Stalcup has looked good for the Polar Bears, but it should be noted that it was the junior Noah Nelson who was the QB today for the Bears.

Getting a win to finish up the season feels like it is really important for JB Wells for two reasons. 1. It will be a big lift for the team, especially young players, and will hopefully help to get them energized for the offseason. 2. Finishing with a win should help a bit with recruiting as well. I know that a lot of recruiting is already done at this point, but you still have the ED2 timeline for kids who might not have gotten into their first choice. Bottom line, Wells needs to show that there is some sort of forward momentum in Brunswick.

To have a sufficient pass defense one needs either to rush or to cover. Today Wesleyan did both along with getting off blocks and pursuing well against the Williams' run, the result being a stymied Williams offense and by the second quarter an exhausted Williams defense.

Agreed. While the Polar Bears have improved as evidenced by their play over the past two weeks, it is JB Wells' third season and he's 2-21 and riding a 15 game losing streak. They need a win badly heading into the off-season; moral victories can only go so far and a tangible one will go a long way for those February dawn weight room sessions.
