Continue attacking me. I don't give a rats a--s. It's not about my son. I lived through the Michaeles debacle, most of you haven't.

And yesterday players (my son wasn't with us) when they spotted Michaeles car and were shocked and not happy. So criticize from afar because you all know best. And none of you heard Michaeles yesterday, how inappropriate his words were. Yet you know all. You all know I'm a bad guy, yet you never met or spoke to me or know the specifics that make me go critical. But you are so high and mighty and know everything.

The administration asked him to attend and he declined.  Then a bunch of parents and players asked him to reconsider and he did.

I was provided a different account by a 100% reliable source. And I've been asked to not discuss the details, and I will not. But Jonathan Michaeles should be embarrassed by how he handheld leading up to, and during this "players" banquet.

Based on my personal knowledge, at least one prominent player, and every connected parent I know, was shocked. No fired coach hangs around like this. Not even in D3. No even in HS. Given me a break.

It's obvious your source is wrong.
I gave my word I would not divulge details and I won't.

But I stand by my personal observations. And you're a new poster starting to sound like the ex-hcof.

Hey -- regardless of the topic of the conversation, posting a user's email on the board is way out of bounds. Email addresses are visible only to logged-in posters and it is going to stay that way.

At least explain why a team would not be happy if they saw the coach at the end of the year banquet?  His comments at the banquet are a separate issue.  I head that the entire coaching staff was let go, so who in fact was actually at the banquet?  Again, this is d3.  The administration should invite the coach for the end of the year banquet.  100% of the time unless that coach was fired with cause for some wrongdoing.

You don't know how these things work, which is fine, but you should keep quiet about it if that is the case.

First to clarify the assistants. Every single one was there. None have been released. I suspect many will if they hire a HC from the outside. A new guy usually wants to bring his own guys in. As stated previously, the OC looked to be a candidate, and based on personal first hand experience I believe he would like to have the job. He's a no nonsense, tough, quick witted, innovative guy, so I'd be happy if they gave him a shot. I believe he'd likely retain most if not all of the staff.

As for Michaeles being there. He could have had a team meeting and said his goodbyes. Perfectly appropriate. Instead, he made a spectacle of the situation prior to the banquet. Most players and
parents were caught completely off guard. Many players and parents wanted him gone. Then he's fired, and he is in their faces. Not only did he attend, he got up and essentially spoke about himself for 10-15 minutes. Of course mentioned the players, but it always turned back to him. The theme being how he didn't deserve this. Sad spectacle. All the while the new AD, s great young guy, who had to make the decision, had to sit there and listen to the guy he just fired. I felt uncomfortable for him. Michaeles said he was there for his players, but he was there for himself. Very uncomfortable situation he created.

Maybe it's time to separate Colby's football discussion from the rest of this board and start it's own board.  At some point, enough is enough.
Give it a break.

Colby assistant coaches have likely been told to "keep doing their jobs, recruit hard, keep their already committed kids on board, keep the current roster together and see what happens." You'd be hard pressed to find any D3 AD who would cut an entire staff lose. That said, I would also assume that the AD has told the current staff that the new HC will have final say on his staff when the time comes. With no spring ball in the NESCAC, and the majority of recruiting being done come early decision deadline, the urgency to get "his" staff together is a bit less than at other D3 schools. I wouldn't be surprised if the assistants are given the remainder of academic year to either earn a job on the new staff, or to find a job elsewhere.

Any other NESCAC rumblings?

Since Pat Coleman deleted my prior post, I will paraphrase here.

ColbyFootball's son has cleaned out his locker and left the program.  In my opinion, it's well past time for dad to follow suit.  And judging by the unprecedented number of -K's he's amassed, I think the rest of the board feels the same way.

If you are a logged-in poster, and you want to send the guy a message - or just want to see who he is - click on his name on a post and you will see his (or more likely, his wife's) email address.  There is no Wiki Leaks level threat to National Security, the guy's posted it right there on the internet.  And if by some chance he takes it down, send me a PM.  I've saved a screenshot which I will be happy to PM you back.  Pretty easy to figure out who he is, and who his son is (and for all I know the kid is an innocent party and appalled by Dad's behavior) by comparing the email address to the Mules roster.

And those of you who remember when he used to post here under a different name (NEWTONESCAC) can connect the dots and figure out why he's got such a vendetta against Michaeles.  The fact that he can't seem to stop even though his son and Michaeles have both left the program is pretty pathetic.

The Terms of Service don't allow for someone to remove their email, so this is another pointless thing to say. If you remove your email and replace it with one that's not valid, you no longer have access to the site. Pretty simple.

You may think it's not a big deal to do what you did, but again, we protect email addresses to only be available to logged-in posters so that spammer cannot harvest this board for the email addresses of users. And we take that fairly seriously.

I believe your analysis of the situation with the Colby assistant coaches is spot on.

I know who I am, what my experiences have been, and what I have done (which I have sometimes felt obliged to apologize for), so I minimize the time I waste on Polarcat. In the overall scheme of life he is a pimple on the proverbial butt. And a nasty pimple at that.

My goodness guys. enough! It is D3 football and most of these guys will be closer to owning an NFL Franchise rather playing at that level.  These 4 years of ny playing will go by fast. I thought this was a chance to enhance the experience because I am not close to Maine and don't live in the Northeast. I hope this improves next season. The discourse here sucks.
