Surprising to me that Business Insider reports that Trinity ranks 4th highest in percentage of students not graduating in 6 years at 19% among top rated small private colleges.

Ahh yes, the buzzfeed of business news.

Seems that Hamilton has hired a new offensive coordinator.  Was on the Cornell Un. Staff.  Hamilton's website has the details.

I stumbled across this fantastic college football map, circa 1940 and thought a few on this board may appreciate it.

A few NESCAC notes; only Middlebury and Hamilton are absent. Trinity is referred to as "Hilltoppers", and Williams as "Purple". The CBB teams fared much better in 1939 than they have in recent memory...

Wesleyan 6-2
Colby 5-5-1
Bowdoin 5-5-1
Trinity 4-2-1
Bates 4-3
Amherst 4-4
Tufts 3-4-1
Williams 2-5-1

Finally, along the border is a listing of the All-American's by school. Hubbard, an Amherst halfback made the list in 1905.

That is a great map. Not sure why Hobart was obscured by the cheerleader's foot as they had a team that played Hamilton, Trinity and Union back then, among others.

Vermont's now-DIII schools are completely ignored on the map.  Middlebury and Norwich were serious rivals.  St. Michael's was still playing then as well.  All three played UVM each season.  The Panthers went 3-4-1 in 1939.

While we know that it will never happen, it's fun to speculate what non-conference opponents a 10th game could bring.  Perhaps a starting place would be a restoration of the Middlebury-Norwich and Hamilton-Union series and previous long time foes like Williams-Rochester or Amherst-Springfield where there are in-conference rivals.  The Connecticut teams could play Coast Guard and the local state schools previously on the roster and the Maine schools could institute rivalries with the two new Maine Programs, Husson and the University of New England.  Bowdoin used to play WPI in the 60's and 70's, so maybe that would be an option.  How about Tufts-MIT for local flavor!

Again, all of this is moot but fun to think about.  It would also be interesting to see how handicapped the NESCAC would be given the roster, practice time, and in-season tackling restrictions imposed after these former rivalries were played.

polbear73.....agreed.  However, the size of the schools to add a 10th game, whether to renew an old rivalry or start one with a nearby school must be considered.  MIT, is larger than Tufts...one of the larger Nescac schools.  There are other factors such as practice schedules, etc., etc.  Maybe Union will return to the "Nescac".
Yes, idle thoughts while I am up in Ct. as my family gathers on this  4th of July weekend.  A safe and enjoyable 4 th to all!.

Very, very rough.  Thanks for sharing his story.   We can all pray that he is at peace.

Such awful news.  My heart breaks for his family.

Back home for awhile....it's been a Wet Summer to date.  Scanning the Nescac schools websites....really like ALL the new formatted sites.  Trinity8-0...did you contribute to the Wesleyan site?  Anyway, the Cardinals has it's 2019 preseason roster posted.  Lots of FY QBs and DBs.  An interesting surprise is a senior prospect!  Not much info posted.  Was there a transfer player posted here earlier?  I do miss/overlook a lot of stuff on this board.
