A Mount Union alum and you're gonna let the Swat alum claim the national championship? C'mon now!

Oops!

That slipped by me! Actually, Mount was looking good for the National championship. But, where would we have put the trophy. Our 13 National  championship trophies in football take up a lot of room, as well as our numerous Gagliardi awards, Melberger awards, awards for number 1 team in offense, defense, total yards, etc., etc., etc.!
Apologies for sounding arrogant, SpringSt7 forced me into it.
(By the way, SpringSt7, you get a +K as well for the inspiration)!
Go everybody! 🎓 🏈 🍺

NESCAC fans

Please understand my previous post was all in fun.
I have the greatest respect for all the schools in this conference - and Swarthmore as well! I wish Mount Union had the academic reputation your schools have.
I was just having fun. Good luck to all! 🎓 🏈

I give you a +K as well. Good stuff. I think I must live in a closet. But I am a Mount Union alumnus. And I'm old (see signature below). Those two probably explain my liking lots of these comments, even if at odds with each other. The OAC board is really dead. This board is a good one - as is the MIAC board.
Anyhow, I'm for everybody. Let's get back to education and have a resumption of our athletics. 🎓 🏈

I'm just having fun as well (even with those who claim that our country has the NESCAC schools..................and all of the rest of them, ya know, a country full of safety schools........like M.I.T ;) )

I think boredom is setting in for many as the string of 90 degree days play out with murder hornets and dust storms.

2020........Who da thunk it? ;)

This says nothing about sports other than reduced athletic department staff in the office, right? Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

I've done a fairly thorough inventory of all East Region teams and pretty much all but a couple have announced plans to reopen or will announce around 7/1. However, none of these schools - save for Bowdoin and TCNJ - have given any indication on whether or not sports will be part of those reopening plans, yet.

Guessing those announcements will come mid to late July.

Yep, we will likely hear from majority of schools the week after July 4th, but very little reason to be optimistic.  With Bates and TCNJ already kiboshing the fall season, the expectation has to be that most others will follow suit.  Tough for any administration to have the intestinal fortitude regarding fall football/sports when the specter of second guessing looms large if and when it proves to be the wrong decision.  Safer way to go is write the season off, apologize to the kiddies, and err on the side of caution.  Tcnj stepping up early with a firm and resolute position caught attention, but really was not that surprising.  This whole mess is just such a shame, especially for the seniors..

Hamilton plans.

Not intended to mislead or provide false hope, I'll be checking with my Hamilton sources to see if anything has been determined relative to athletics.

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but these restrictions will forever damage our young people to varying degrees. Yes, we must take reasonable precautions to safeguard our citizens. But, why does that require stripping our college kids of the precious college years when they are amongst the least vulnerable in our population. Our focus should be on those most at risk in a balanced sensible way. Sadly, most of these colleges, beginning with Bowdoin and TCNJ, don't have the nerve. They take the easy way out in the name of safety. After all, who can argue with erring one the side of safety? Over 90% of fatalities are people over 65 and/or with serious underlying medical conditions. And over 40% of fatalities are related to nursing homes or long term care facilities. For full disclosure, I do not have a child who will begin college next year, so my family isn't directly effected. I just think it's a shame that the college kids are being robbed of their education and experiences by drastic measures.

You can, apparently.

I was told there would be no more politics.

I'm searching for the politics here....................but I only went to Swarthmore for my undergraduate degree, not a NESCAC school, thus I'm sure that I am missing it. ;)

SpringSt7

I don't have an undergraduate degree from ANYWHERE and I can confidently tell you that this joke has run its course, or maybe the dead horse has been beaten, to put it into more familiar terms. Don't recall anyone on these boards bragging about how much they make though.
