We think most people rather enjoy our "schtick"...
I'm more than ok with some good natured ribbing and can give as good as I get. My point is that you pretend to come off as a neutral voice on the league but your overt bias for Wesleyan is undeniable. Why not just drop the charade, Dave? Perhaps we can discuss on Saturday? I'll be on campus for another event but will swing by the game and keep an eye out for you and your cigar in the end zone at Andrus.

Speaking of schticks .... isn't it time to bring back the GIF of the kid picking up the dead ball and running it back for a touchdown?
It's always available upon request and/or every year for Trinity-Amherst week. On a somewhat related note, a few friends sent me this clip over the weekend of a similar play from the Memphis-Mississippi State game. Play to the whistle, kids.

As we have said many, many times before, we represent a consortium of NESCAC alums, parents, former coaches that have allegiances to many schools in the conference....yes, including Wes and many others...truth be told, the primary scribe is a Wes alum/former player, however, he is just one voice and one vote in the group...we have some good connectivity to some ADs/coaches in the conference so sometimes we get some interesting correct info (and sometimes we get some interesting incorrect info!)... with that being said, we are not trying to be neutral...we do try to be as objective and honest as possible, however...sometimes, obviously, that pisses people off, but so be it...we are always down for a good cigar (we'll miss having a smoke this year in Willyville with our good friend, Renzie Lamb) and adult beverage so bring it on...we're sure we'll recognize you...you'll be the guy with the the blue and gold bow tie, right?!?  ;D

I actually do appreciate your posts. And I have no problem with you trying to protect your anonymity. But, I have less patience for misdirection and falsehoods. Anyone who has followed this Board at all for the past few years would know that, whoever you are, you are a 100% Wesleyan homer. There is no consortium of any kind. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this, but why the (attempted) misdirection?

Only a Wesleyan homer would have Wes atop the Power Rankings at this point. Only a Wesleyan homer would project a Wesleyan punter to win a Special Teams Player of the Year award that does not even exist. I doubt anyone associated with Trinity would endorse posts repeatedly referring to Trinity as Hartford St (I actually quite like the Lord Mammoths, however).

Why not just be an unabashed Wesleyan homer? Or at least stay silent on the subject. Anyway, i very much look forward to your picks on Friday. Let me guess, you will have Wes, Trinity, Amherst, Williams, and Midd all winning? 5-0!!!

Ok, I need to go check out this much anticipated Amherst roster. I hope it includes some crazy graphics or something.

You'll have to wait until Friday for our picks but just a hint....you are not correct...  :)

As far as our pick for Special Teams Player of the Year (that was a not so subtle hint, btw, to the NESCAC Gods that they should award a player in that category), our pick was Wes 2019 2nd Team All-NESCAC KICKER (not punter) Mason Von Jess...anyone who has seen him kick will tell you he's pretty special...clearly not a homer pick...and btw, unfortunately he's injured right now as previously noted on one of our post-game posts...

FYI, for anyone heading to Middletown on Saturday with plans to tailgate here are the regulations currently in effect per the Wesleyan Campus Pandemic Committee:

•   PARKING WILL NOT OPEN UNTIL NOON FOR THE HAMILTON GAME ON 9/25/21
•   GRILLS AND POP-UP TENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE PARKING AREA
•   VECHILES MUST EXIT THE PARKING AREA NO LATER THAN ONE HOUR AFTER CONCLUSION OF THE GAME
•   ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE BLEACHERS OR AREAS SURROUNDING THE GAME FIELD
•   AVOID LARGE GATHERINGS
•   PLACE TRASH IN PROPER BINS BEFORE LEAVING THE PARKING AREA

Depending upon fan behavior and CPC concerns, the policies are subject to change prior to each remaining home football game. Protocol violators will lose parking privileges.

Thanks Hs5-4...

Wes rules are so dumb on so many levels...we heard this previously but seeing it in black and white makes our blood boil...see, we're not always "homers"...

BTW, you forgot another important bullet....HAM fans will have to park near the Freeman Athletic Center, not on Andrus with the Wes supporters...

What a sad lack of imagination on the part of the No Fun Police.  As if a pop up tent and a grill are the only options for tailgating.  What about a lobster bake?  A pig roast?  A food truck?  A duck boat with a couple of sushi chefs, barstool seating and a Sake fountain?  Guy Fieri with a coal fired pizza oven?  (Technically not a "grill").  A medicinal marijuana dispensary on wheels?  What sissy britches Wes administrator thinks that a grill and a popup tent are the only way to have fun?

Where is the Kent Literary Club when we need them?

We waited two years for games to return and have spent the week after Week 1 arguing Bowdoin recruiting, Trinity academics, and NESCACMAN. Can't make this stuff up

SpringSt, don't forget tailgating rules and NJ H.S. football!

Here is a Nescac football question ... are true sophomores who practiced last year eligible this year for ROY?  Because if so those awards are gonna be LOADED.

amh63

With the exception of one Football playing Nescac schools...notice that I avoided the word colleges...all rosters were available and general writeups were available.  Week one games can be divided between schools with fine starting QBs, returning ones, and ones looking to find a starting QB...in my view.  Week 2 games should be more revealing as to how the season might unfold.  I will have my fingers crossed and eyes wide open.  I do not think "homefield" advantage will matter...not in this COVID season with crowd/fan restrictions.

N1-
Why not have 2 awards- one for class of 24 and one for class of 25

Eph1....you know our view on this subject...if it is your first year starting, no matter what the class, we think you should be eligible for ROY awards....however, the NESCAC overlords disagree...we think Sophs that did not have the opportunity to play last year should be eligible since they all have 4 years of eligibility remaining if they decide to use it...

I think if we had Rookie of the Year awards for the region and nationally, this is probably what we would do.

An eclectic group!

Ah!....up early...for me...checking the news, weather(raining) and latest Nescac posts.  Bates should be given praise for given a preview of their next game with the MIDD.  It will be the battle of the "cats".  Was going to praise their SID....but even the best make errors.  Seems the writeup list Bates' fine QB twice...with different heights and weights.  Maybe the player can win the POY twice?

And you thought the walk from The Coop to Ferris Athletic Center for halftime tailgating was bad?
Either way, congrats on finding a loophole!

Costa is a very good player...if they win more than a few games, we'd vote for giving him the OPOTY twice!!!

If you cut through Michael's backyard, it's actually not that far of a walk to Andrus....in any event, the plan is to pre-game at DKE, get in the lot at Noon, smoke/drink at the half in the TG area, and post-game in the TG area (for an hour...haha)...
