Oddly enough for an Amherst team, the running half of the offensive gameplan has been the inconsistant part this year.  NeSmith (a sophomore) and Rauh (a freshman) are getting most of the touches.  Both have big-play potential and hit the hole well, but have struggled to gain consistant yardage on every touch.  Tomorrow could be their first big test due to the rain.

I think we are going to be in store for some wacky results with the rain today.

Trin9-0

... so much for Trin being in the bottom 4 of the league. Hamilton's defense impressive again though in defeat. Tough one for the Bobcats. Congrats to the Cards. Bowdoin appears to be a flash in the pan. Big game next week for the Bants and Jeffs.

colby bates was simply the best football game i have ever seen. the weather was indeed a huge factor and garcelon field in lewiston was a swimming pool/swamp by the end. i dont know how bates will be able to play another game on it, the field was so torn up. this game featured defensive tds, second effort tds, blocked kicks, multiple 4th down stands by both teams and a huge effort by colby to win it on 4th down in the 4th overtime. amazing game, amazing efforts by both teams.

Best game ever when it took 4 overtimes to get the score to 10-7?

After today, I take back what I said about Amherst's lack of consistancy running the ball - they were more than solid today against a good Tufts D.  Freshman Aaron Rauh is getting better every week.

im not saying best game ever, just the best ive seen in person. it was just a battle. the intensity of both teams was what made it such a fun nailbiter

Best game, no. I too was there miserable weather conditions. Bates came out physical, colby was more error free. The game came down to multiple erros. Poor kicking due to the weather no way even to hold the damm ball. Bates punter quite frankly kept them in the game with a great effort. He was the only standout from mypoint of view. Bates obeng and ryan made some great plays. In the end colby kept their heads, made no major erros in the fouth quarter and got a field goal when it counted. congrats to them. As for qquality I have seen better from a technical point of view. Both teams should learn from the exercise. And I had to hear about it all night from my boy at dinner. Ouch .

The karma gods have not been kind to us.

Wesleyan's game versus Bowdoin on Saturday was the 125th anniversary of Andrus Field, the oldest football field in continuous use in the United States:

andrus was always a pretty cool field to play on.  i thought midd and wlms had the best in terms of scenery.  hamilton was the worst place to play because they stuck the visitors in the shade on the home side of the field.  had to be a 10 degree difference in temp.
"what's the difference?  it's just j.crew vs. l.l.bean anyways"

WOW....The showdown between Herst and Trin this weekend is going to be amazing.

Hamilton proves that Williams can be slowed down....and with Amherst playing them in the final game of the season I still think there could be a two way tie for first.

Congrats to Wesleyan.

Col. Partridge

Still potential for three-way tie for first...

Needless to say, this is going to be a very interesting end to the season.
