Keane University, another NJ state Teacher's College that changed its name and Became a "University"

Thanks dewcrew for the invite over to LL, however for now I'll just follow Good old NESCAC and Tufts!

Gotta cheer my son and his boys on, from a very long distance away!  Its not like when he was in HS, and  bright lights and friday nights  now it is quite a hike to Medford.

Comparing Tufts to Rowan is just plain tacky for many, many, many reasons.,

Powder blue and brown....well,  it could be worst!  We played against a HS whose colors were purple and very bright pink trim.  (this was in wrestling though...just
imagine those singlets!  I guess it motivated them bcz they had many state placers.)

Johnny Utah you are probably right!

anyway all in fun....

Tarpondad, respectfully, I'd suggest taking comments about jerseys as a joke.  Trinity posters are also very sensitive to "school-bashing"!!! (because when we win, we are accused of letting in idiots, but no one complains when we are good little boys and go 6-2 or 5-3 ... so we're always a few points each season [a missed extra point, a turnover, etc.] away from being called idiots and cheaters).

Anyway, Trin 8-0, on the subject of unis, what's the deal with Trinity's helmet?  I'm all for tradition and all, but I LOVED the "T" we had on the dark blue helmets in lieu of the Bantam on the yellow helmet.  What are your thoughts?

tarpondad

So, does any one have any thoughts on Saturday's Games?
Who looks to be in the W column?

bant551

Tarp:

Rooting for Tufts will be fun for you.  They're a team thats always competent and they give the traditional "top-3" a run for their money most years.

;D ;D ;D ;D, yawn,

I guess you're attempting to make a feeble  bash at Tufts?...Oh well ...to be expected from someone from Glassboro State Teachers College, and to be on top of Mullica Hill, You guys still have an inferiority complex?

Being Garnet and in Glassboro I guess you need to pick on someone.  So okay Garnett you've had your fun I guess your uniforms are soooo way coool.  Watch out Keane University may come and Getcha!, or maybe even that other school in Yogi's neighborhood!

Geesh, you sure you can breathe with your nose so far up in the sky like that?

pg04:

Sorry you are so late to the Frey!

Yes, I breathe quite well so way up here!  Its rarefied.     ;D :D

The fracas has already been settled as all of it being in fun...Since, I was not at Tufts at the Turn of the century and did not pick out such wonderful colors, I guess I have to live with them.

Point being:

1) comparing Rowan with Tufts on any level including School Colors, is just soooo wrong! :D

2.) Jersey's and schools from "joisy" are a tacky comparison also.  (I'm sorry if you didn't see the connection ::))

3.) I do have quite a thick skin and this was all in fun.

As a newbie to this board I wish to thank all for this thread.  Made for a fun lunch break.

Time to make some 2008 week 1 picks.

Trinity 41
Bates 7

Tufts 28
Wes Tech 14

Middlebury 35
Bowdoin 14

Amherst 35
Hamilton 7

William 28
Colby 7

Keeping it basic:  I don't see any upset potential in week 1.

eclinchy

Your winners and losers of course look right, but wow... you sure know how to predict blowouts.

Middlebury -10, not -21... and Amherst?  Four touchdowns? I'd go closer to one.

As for the Jumbos' uniforms, consider me baffled by the switch from the ugly blue-on-brown to the even uglier brown-on-blue.

bant551

Colby and Bowdoin, playing two of the top teams (Midd and Williams), probalby have the best chance at pulling the upset.

tarpondad

Oh No, you mean (the Jumbo's colors) were even worse?????????

I'll be up all night trying to think of a come back to this!!!!!!! ???

neathDelms

My predictions are based on teams with strong defenses that will force turnovers and be able to give their Offense good field position.  Also, these teams are at home; I feel that this will also be a factor.

The brown on brown home unis (2000-2003) were god awful..Not much better were the away white tops & brown pants.  Tufts switched to brown tops/white pants for 2004-2006 which are a great look (in my opinion).  Even better were the all white aways with the powder blue socks during that era.  Much prefer that look to last year's light blue tops.  Also prefer the numbers on the helmets vs. Jumbo.....just call me old school, I guess.  In any case it's not the uni...it's what's under it.  Go Jumbos.
