I'm predicting an unprecidented Bantam-Sweep for the major awards:

Offensive POY -  Eric McGrath
Defensive POY - Tyler Berry
Coach of the Year -  Jeff Devanney

Of course very few if any freshman play at Trin so it won't exactly be a clean sweep, so I'll go with QB Jordan Eck from Hamilton for rookie of the year.

I wanna see Hammy go 7-1 next year, with the only loss to 8-0 Trinity.

I've always pulled for the Continentals.

All conference team is out.  No major surprises with Trinity sweeping the major awards.

Surprised Caro from Williams didn't get at least second team, although he got hurt late in the year he was the most dominant receiver in the conference when healthy ... all the rest of the Ephs look about right.  Ephs lose a lot with three senior first team all conference defenders and the two three-time all league o linemen graduating, and replacing Morrissey will be particularly tough.

Trinity seems to bring back the most underclassmen talent, although McGrath will be tough to replace to put it mildly.  Amherst also has many non-seniors represented.

Anyone else think John Lawrence from Hamilton should have been first team?

Congrats to Dave Clawson, Williams class of 89, new head coach of Bowling Green, and John Szalowski, class of 09, first team all-american (only NESCAC player so named):

Williams should be strong on defense next year with lots of injured players coming back, but it will be no easy task replacing their bookend twin tackles and star running back (plus his two top back-ups) on offense ...

Former Amherst / current Yale coach retires:

Wonder if any current NESCAC coaches are candidates?

Last I heard:
UMass coach and Spencer native Don Brown, University of Florida offensive line coach Steve Addazio, and former Sacred Heart coach and current Akron defensive coordinator Jim Fleming reportedly are the remaining finalists for the Yale Position.

frank uible

Latest poop has it that Brown now has withdrawn his name and that David Shaw, Stanford OC. returns to consideration.

Its Addazio's job if he wants it, hes a new haven area native and very well liked , Clawson was in the running early but stepped out

Word on the streets of Hartford is that the Bantams are bringing in a QB transfer from UMaine.

Quarterback is the only real questionmark for the Trin heading into '09. If this kid can play solid ball I think the Bants are the NESCAC favorite again.
