Come on LD, these are pork tips and they are HUGE.  Much larger than the pulled pork version you have shown there.  And don't worry if the place is crowded.  The cooks have blazing speed which makes the whole process go smooth.

Glad someone is getting it. :)

Sarcasm is a lost art.  No surprise my fellow Eastern MA wise a$$ got it.

That's a pretty accurate analysis Panthernation, although I think you're confusing Budness (fullback/H-Back) with Burgess (QB). I agree that starting strong is critical for both teams. Unfortunately for my Bantams they've been slow to get going all season. Trinity trailed against Bates, Williams, and Bowdoin early and let Tufts hang around until late in the second quarter.

I think Trinity will struggle to pressure Foote and expect him to rack up a ton of yardage. However, I think the Bantam defense will stiffen up in the red zone and limit the number of TDs. If Trinity can hold Midd to field goals and limit their time of possession by establishing the run game they can escape with #46 in The Coop.

My fear is that Middlebury will come out firing and be up 21-0 before Trin knows the game started. I agree that forcing the Bants to be a one-dimensional passing team would mean an end to the streak. For the first time in the history of this rivalry both teams are undefeated so it should be a fantastic game.

Hopefully, it lives up to hype. Go Bants!

It was Family weekend and everyone on the Amherst football team got to play....it was not a sunny day.  Final score was 51-7.
Amherst scored twice in the first quarter and it was 14-0.  Tufts scored on a 36 yard run by its "passing" QB Dobbs and it was 14-7.  It was 27-7 at the half.  Amherst scored twice in its first two drives in the 2nd half. and it was 41 -7.  Amherst's two QBs, Lippe and Pieterse both passed for over 150 yards each by the end of the 3rd quarter and each ran for a TD.  Tuft's Dobbs was replaced late in the 3rd quarter after his 2nd pick led to a TD.  He was harassed and also had two near picks and finished with less than 100 yds passing. Amherst had a lot of subs in and it looked like Amherst's "replacement " players were still holding down Tuft's replacement players.  With around 8 minutes to go, Amherst recovered a fumble on the 1 yard line.  Amherst's third QB was told to take a knee three times since it was 48-7.  With 6 minutes to go, Amherst kicked another field goal.  Amherst used two different kickers and generally was running out the last 5 minutes.  Amherst's defense made the difference.  Amherst's offense was built around the passing game and young WRs came through.  Tufts' defense was set to stop the run and was unable to stop the passing attack.  Tufts offense caught Amherst off guard when it went into a two back offense and the QB behind the center...announcers called it the "wildcat" offense. That set up got Tuft's offense going in its one drive. Amherst adjusted to the change.
That is how I saw it on the webcast.

Again, out of town all week.

Will recap later.  Just letting all know that it is not a misprint.  It was 31-0 at half.  Midd was simply overwhelmed.  Completely outmanned and outcoached.

Amherst next week at home.  Won't count any chickens but Amherst better do their homework.

always the funny wordsmith, Frank.  Want to talk about football?  I noticed the site went dead as the results of yesterday's games came in.  Other than amh63 reviewing the tarring and feathering of Tufts in front of the parents, no reply.  There are more than a few who complain about how dead this site is and post nothing about football.  Now this is when I would zing the guys who talked about their favorite unis but I don't want to hurt anyones feelings even when I add lol or tic

Where is Williams going?  I asked the scary question weeks ago about the future of the coach.  Any thoughts or comments on how the Willies might be viewing the current status of their football team?  Especially in light of their $85 gazillion athletic revitalization?

How about some props for the QB coach at Trin who has worked some magic with Burgess.  Last year, VERY average, this year, pretty damned good.  John Fraser, former QB coach at Yale.  Vast amount of experience and Trin was lucky to get him.

Just some off the cuff thoughts.....

Bates, Wes and Midd are all having notably "up" years - what does it take to spark their fans? Looking at it philosohically they rightfully have better things to do than get excited over a little football of small importance. Coach Kelton is and most likely will continue to be okay in Williamstown. He knows football, and first and foremost the kids like to play for him - no rumblings of complaint against him have reached this reporter. Way too early to examine here the kind of support he is getting from the Admissions Office. Don't have an opinion on Trin's QBing. May I now go out and play?

Fantastic coaching and NASTY defense was the story out of Hartford, yesterday.  Great recap here, from The Hartford Courant:
