Amh63--you are correct--Trinity was not on the list by oversight only, but I am aware we have some who cover the team for us(Bantamfan).  Thanks for pointing it out.

Pat: Better, worse or equivalent, day games are generally less high school and less commercial than night games. Noteworthy re Williams roster: Scott Farley, Williams star of yesteryear, is listed as a coach, and no members of class of 2017 are yet listed.

Regarding the Williams roster, that is just the '14, '15, and '16 guys from last year's roster, with no modifications.  So it will not be reflective of who is on the preliminary roster for this year (certainly a few of those guys have already quite the program, and there are probably other upperclassmen who have returned).  Williams typically does not post it pre-season roster, including incoming frosh, until very late August or even September.

Many current NESCAC players are in favor of a night game or two--fond memories of their HS experience.

I can think of a couple of Wesleyan players who might enjoy that trip down memory lane :).

NCF---I am sure you are correct!

Strong suspicion there will be additional night games coming to the NESCAC in seasons to come.

Some schools start putting out roster this time of the year...but like the Cardinals, the rosters do not show any new students/players.  Just  a tease trailer of sorts :)

NESCAC football players report in three weeks....rosters will be soon thereafter.

Gridiron...seems right for Amherst....as dorm rooms are available about 25 of August.  I do not know how Much FY players are inserted into practices these days....even any transfer players.  Amherst keeps a tight schedule on FY students during orientation and control the time of transfer students.  Classes start this year on 2 Sept.  Before Hamilton rejoined the conference in all sports, I had noticed that the Fall contests in other sports other than football often started earlier...since the Continentals competed in another conference.  In my days, freshmen, had their own teams.  Yes, the food was not very good and the pay was low in the dining halls, etc.and we never saw any women students until the weekend.  Amherst even had ski , wrestling crew and sailing teams then...with Holy Cross, Harvard, etc being contested!

...at some colleges the food is still not very good :) I'm thinking most colleges must excuse their freshmen/transfers from any sport practice during orientation activities.

True enough--all NESCAC teams have same NCAA constraints and cannot begin before that day.  Freshmen participate from day one, but many of the schools (if not all now) have orientation programs for the freshmen student body as a whole, and the football players are excused from practice to participate like all other incoming freshmen.  Another indication of the fact priorities in the league are properly set for the student-athletes.

I don't think so. I suspect more coaches schedule around those activities whenever possible. Not many orientation activities at 6 a.m.

If I remember correctly from  my son's experience, there is always an activity (or two) that conflicts with some aspect of football.
