Other than the Trinity vs. Middlebury game in possible snow flurries, I think the predicted/projected outcomes of the other games will hold the line...so to speak.  A thought for the day...if Vanderbilt can beat Georgia in a SEC battle, maybe a "surprise" result will happen today.
Apologies to Vandy74...who should be at the VT game :)

Leedy, a solid player but another Middlebury homer pick, he's not in the class of the aforementioned.

Hard for Leedy to be a homer pick when our guest contributor goes to Bowdoin, and was a former member of the Bowdoin football team.

Agree that Kukesh is one of the most talented players in the conference.

amh63: If the forecasted 18 mph winds in Middlebury materialize today, Foote's passing game will likely be adversely effected.

Frank U.  A most "true " point.  It depends on the direction of the wind, I think too.  If the wind goes from end zone to end zone...do not know alignment of the field...Foote may have a good day with the wind to his back. :).  Would like to catch some of the game on- line, but alas,  I will be watching Elephants in Boston  attacking the the LJs.  Since this is a  "reverse" scenario of the Hannibal Campaign,  the Romans will win.

Midd hands Trinity its first loss, 27-24. Foote connects with Minnow on 4th and goal from the 7 with a minute and change remaining for the winning points. Bantams made things interesting, driving to the Panther 35 before a game-ending pick in the end zone.

Great day to be a Panther.

Most difficult game to watch as Amherst beats Tufts by the score of 17-7.  It was 7-7 at the half.  Amherst continues to make mistakes...penalties at the wrong time to stop drives and turnovers...six of them!  Yes 6...three interceptions and three fumbles.  First must give Tufts credit.  Two of the fumbles were more like stripping the ball after the play was stopped.  Tufts played hard on the defensive side.  Amherst's defence bailed the offense out again.  Many of the turnovers happened when Amherst was in the red zone.  Amherst second TD was on 4th down.  Amherst had to kick a field goal after being stopped on the 5.  With time running out, Amherst was stopped again on the 3 by Tufts defense.
Actually the strong wind played a part....as it often was a game of field position with short punts into the wind and running plays vice passes into the wind.
Tufts only TD, was started by good field position due to a Amherst fumble on a run.  The Tufts drive was aided by two..yes two unsportsman penalties that moved the ball down to the Amherst 1 yard line.
The game is summarized best by a remark by the Tufts announcer...late in the game...4th quarter.  He stated that the way Amherst was moving the ball, the game felt like the score should be around 35-7...Amherst.
Good prediction of the score Nescacman...38-7.  The Tufts defense and Amherst mistakes provided you wrong :)

Agreed with you Bucket.
Got to see the last 4 minutes of the game.  The first drive by Middlebury into Trinity's red zone stalled during the time.  Middlebury's stout defense gave the ball back to the Panthers around their 25 yard line with two minutes and about 21 seconds left in the game.  Foote's 40 plus yd completion to Trinity's 5-6 yd line set up the final TD.
Panthernation writeup was great wrt the game.  Stout defense...battle in the trenches...by Middlebury, even when Foote throws two more pixs.
Must thank the Homecoming festivities for delaying the broadcasts?.

The odds of winning a game  when a team is -6 on turnovers is very long indeed.  You have to give Amherst's defense a ton of credit here.    Tufts had 7 yards rushing and was sacked 7 times and had a mind boggling 13 punts.  A very extreme day for stats.

Tufts kids continue to play hard and their families are doing a magnificent job lifting their spirits week after week.    I have no doubt they will play hard until the echo of the last whistle of the season.

If I was just a fan, I'd be happy to weigh in, but I have a son on the team so it's probably not appropriate to comment on things that the coach has not publicly divulged.

Bucket is THE MAN but I must say that Vandy74 and the other people watching with us assessed the game as being the most thrilling and improbable in a long time.  Until Midd's interception to end the game, none of us believed the Panthers could win.
Bucket, you are the calmest reporter, ever.  Enviable cool dude.

I speak of Williams football and only Williams football.

Frank....yeah you Frank , be very , very afraid next week , but you are a smart guy and already know you are going to Poop your pants........looking back at my old posts I did originally state that the best game all year won't be played as Middlebury did great things today and wish they had that win last year for a Ring.....Looking forward to meeting any and all Sick Williams people next week as today was great meeting some fine Bowdoin humans as by far they are the best bunch of NESCAC humans I have met yet as far as foes goes.....Bowdoin is a very good team with many nice players , they just need to pound the pavement a little harder in the recruiting....I will root for Bowdoin to win this years Maine Trophy......only negative of the day was I got a rash of texts from the Wesleyan people who did not attend the game that where listening to the Bowdoin Broadcast for me to go up in the booth and put those dudes in a headlock for derogatory comments made about Coach W for the late TD.....for those dudes , make sure you know something before taking a shot like that , you can go onto the Wesleyan Website and get Coach W's phone number or email and ask him about it , if you want and I am 100% certain he would get back to you immediately and show you the utmost courtesy and respect that in this case you do not deserve.........so in conclusion to those Bowdoin announcers watch your mouth next time ......also in conclusion what a beautiful old stadium and great setting and great people today and was so cool seeing the Cardinals come Strait out of the Woods......now strait pain and suffering for me to drive back and deal with this stupid Red Sox game and everyone and their dead grandma betting the Oregon over.

Amh63...I replied to this in timely fashion only to check back on board to learn that "another reply had in posted while I was typing" (or something to that affect) and do I therefore want to review my post.  Hell no! >:(  If posting something that makes me look uninformed board-wise is the only thing I do to potentially embarrass myself today then I forgot to get out of bed this morning. ::)  Anyway, good to see that I'm not the only one keeping track of Vandy football.  HC James Franklin is for real.  As long as they are lucky enough to have him the Commodores will be as well.  I don't like their chances of spoiling Johnny Football's day after A&M was among the victims of last week's SEC Upset Saturday Special however.

I watched the game with Middhoops as planned.  Midd hoopster James Jensen's parents joined us for the second half.  A very pleasant afternoon all around.  I owed Middhoops a beer for reasons that only make sense to him so Bucket has beaten me to posting the first report of today's big upset.  Hmmmm...upon further review I see that Middhoops just got one in as well.  Can't say it any better than those two.  (But I will throw in my 2 cents worth just the same. ;D)  Great job by the Panther defense today and while Foote threw a few bad passes the 2 picks weren't his fault.  A deflection and a poorly run route.  Pretty obvious if you were there.  Mac looked good when it counted and he got the job done.  Middlebury rooters have been spoiled the last two years.  The Panther's first scoring drive had one frustrated Trinity rooter mentioning Tom Brady.  As long as Giselle doesn't have the two of them confused it's probably Okay. ;)  If nothing more Middlebury has certainly made the NESCAC picture more interesting.
