Go Continentals!

Go Continentals!

They bring in Hopsicker and Hamilton scores! They bring back Rosenberg and he throws yet another interception.

Go Continentals!

Ouch, Colby is bringing in the 3's.  Bring back Hopsicker!

With 13 minutes left in the 4th, we're knotted up in Brunswick 10 - 10.  Trinity has been shifting their attack to the air to jump start their offense.

Go Continentals!

With less than 6:30 to go, Trinity has scored again through the air to take a 17 - 10 lead.

Trinity's defense stiffened in the second half really shutting down Bowdoin's rushing attack.  Bowdoin finishes with only 102 yards on the ground after amassing 78 in the first half.

Bowdoin's defense played well but just wound up on the field a bit too long as Trinity sustained their offense through the air and on the ground.  Trinity finished with 426 yards of total offense.

Mac Caputi finished 9-25 (36%) and 98 yards.

Hank Foye went 17-23 (73.9%) for 247 yards and 2 TDs and INT

Tufts 27 Williams 20.  Jumbos controlled play most of the game.

Wes does not sing their fight song after the game.....as Amherst wins in Middletown!  In a nail biter, the game goes into OT as a FG with 23 sec.to go ties the score at 30-30...so much for a defensive battle when you look at the score.  In OT, Amherst stops WES on 4 th and a short 1 on the 6 yd. line.
Amherst makes only 5 yards via a QB Lippe run.  In comes Amherst's kicker and he makes a 35 yarder for the win...his fourth of the day.
It was a tough battle at the line of scrimmage all day. Wes QB Warren throws his first pick of the season....leading to an Amherst TD and giving the Jeffs a 27-23 lead with less than 4 minutes to go.  Amherst gives up a 60 yard TD pass play in WES's next possession.
Both teams were racking up penalties as the players on both sides did not like rough play on the playing field.
WES lost their wildcat QB in the first half and even had him at QB.  RB Kelly was a beast and scores 3 TDs...yet had to leave the field for awhile after a hard hit.
Good game to watch for a neutral fan.....very few on the sidelines.  Big swings of emotions for the partisan fans.
Go Jeffs!

Just looked at the QB stats:

Mac Caputi is 4-10 (40%) for 32 yards.

Trinity has used 3 different QB's in the first half.  I've never seen them play before - is that typical or is it more likely the starter was injured? (though I hope not)

Henry Foye is 4-6 (66.7%) for 46 yards and INT
Kyle Pulek is 1-1 (100%) for 27 yards
Spencer Aukamp is 0-4 (0%)

Kyle Pulek is our all conference punter. He completed a pass when in to kick on fourth down.

Bowdoin played inspired for their coach and homecoming.

Once again our O started slowly and the defense controlled the game. Another game when the D did not give up a touchdown. The td came on an interception return.

Total offense for the game Trin 426  Bears 200.  Trin had 296 in second half.

Best RB did not play for Trinity.

No excuses. Just O did not finish some drives and Bowdoin played a tough game. Good to have a game like this now. I have not looked at the stats for the Wes/Amherst game but was surprised at 30-30 in regulation. A lot of points. Must have been a fun game to watch. Hard to imagine a cad school scoring 30 on Trinity but then this Bowdoin team lost to Williams 36-0. That seems like a long time ago.

Banfan......checked in on your game prior to the one in Middletown.  Saw your son..#72  lining up.  Seems all the Trinity defensive linemen were wearing white colored shoes.  Have not seen the stats of the Amherst game myself.  The coverage via CPTV was good in that it had replay capacity.  On the field announcer/color person stated the field was soggy and in the second half , there were players slipping making cuts.  Question came up if it would affect the kicking game.

Banfan - congrats on an impressive win today.

Just curious what you thought about about the second touchdown reception by Trinity.  To me it didn't look like the player controlled the ball and I thought the TD call was a little quick.

No complaining here just wondering what you saw.

Interesting.
Was at the game but because I was in the grandstand at mid-field, did not have any sort of angle.
But my brother had spotted a college roommate and ventured down to the 10 yard line at that end on the sideline.
When he returned to his seat he mentioned "I think the ref missed that call, the Trinity receiver never had possession."
Had not thought about it til this query.
Oh well, just more (possibly) inept officiating in the NESCAC.
Thought the refs today were bad to both teams at times.

A soggy weather 1st half became a rather pleasant mid-afternoon in Middlebury as the Panthers had a surprisingly easy time of it against Bates.  Milano found favorite receivers Minno and Rankowitz for a pair of TDs each besides connecting with Ryan Rizzo 5 times.  He hit 8 different targets in all.  Drew Jacobs churned out 43 hard earned yards on the ground while adding 20 more on 3 receptions.  The defense held Bates to less than 200 yards of offense recording 5 sacks, 2 interceptions and two fumbles, one for a TD late in the 1st half.  All in all a very impressive performance.

Unfortunately I was unable to convince a friend who picks games on another board that Amherst would beat Wesleyan.  I made it home just in time to watch the game-winning FG in OT.
