For the record I had nothing to do with pointing this out  ;)

Kind of a different situation when both kids are in here attempting to toot their own horns (not even their teams).....makes me embarassed for having defended the NESCAC earlier.

Still trying to figure out how two alumni joking with each other can be constituted as tooting their own horns? I mean I don't think Kevin or I had high hopes of making All-NESCAC this season.....
(I didn't even make it as a player hah)

Dude, you are not even involved in this.....it mostly involves bear1234.

C'mon, you NESCAC guys are supposed to be smart.

it does seem a bit curious when a 2-6 team like tufts gets 7(!!!) all conference nominations while a 4-4 team like colby (correct my math but i believe thats double the win total of the jumbos) gets only 3. weird stuff

'gro

you amish guys are soooo crazy

Tufts class President and VP discuss the Jumbos season

If Bismarck had engaged in enough reflection, he would have included the making of all-star teams with sausage and laws.

nescacsfty

if you want to go by stats instead of seniority then the colby safety should be first team as he was 4th in the league in total tackles...ahead of all other defensive backs. also the wr galligan from trinity probably should have been first team as well. the fact that tufts has 7 all league awards is a bit of a shame..if they had 7 all league caliber recipients than they would have had a better record.

I was also impressed how Amherst though without much of an offense, was able to close out every game. Kudos to their front seven for creating enormous pressure all game all season.

A general comment in the midst of all of this.  I can't speak for all of the NESCAC schools because my knowledge is limited to my experience - but Williams is 'need blind'.  Having spent my first full season enjoying the games and the pre/post tailgating - the people are as diverse as one would see in any state university and they are from many walks of life and income levels (teachers, carpenters and the like).  So for the commentary regarding 'elitists' and being away from the normal polo games - it could not be further from the truth.  With regard to the person who commented that they loved going to Williamstown and routinely beat them by 50 points - the history books don't indicate that ever happened - he/she may remember winning the Nobel prize as well. Frankly, I don't have an opinion on D3 playoffs - but disagree with the 75 roster cap and would like to see that changed.

nescacsfty

the problem with removing the 75 cap limit is that schools with lower admissions standards, i.e. trinity would gain an even large advantage in recruiting.

also, though i would agree that nescac has made strides in promoting diversity it still has a ways to go. I would say both amherst and williams do a good job with promoting diversity but the rest of the schools have a ways to go. and as for the elitist conception, i would def say that exists though i dont think it has any racial indications but more of a socio economic one.

frank uible

The 76th man on Trinity's roster would not be good enough to help Trinity (or any other NESCAC college for that matter) win at any time. But the Rule of 75 is anti-student because it deprives those who would like the experience of participating in footbal (if not actually playing in games).
